Sam Stout

What's the story on this guy? I seem to remember him being pretty impressive at such a young age just a few years ago. Did he just not pan out?

I am actually interested to see if the Vinny-Elliot fight. I think Elliot definitely has the stand up advantage. His BJJ might be good enough to survive Vinny's if it goes to the ground although he should avoid the ground like the plague.

I hope Melvin kills Tavares. For some reason I hate that guy - he comes off as a huge prick. I also want to see the local boy return to form and get his act together.

Was it Stann or Cantwell that broke that black guy's arm in his first UFC fight?

I'm surprised to see so many taking Marshall in this. Vinny is going to sub him in under 3 minutes IMO. Now Vinny obviously is a gaping pussy when it comes to stand up, but there is only so long I think Marshall will be able to keep it there. Marshall won't go over a minute on the ground with that guy IMO.

I don't know. Marshall is a black belt and has some pretty respectable skill level on the ground. I know Vinny is world class, but I still like Marshall's chances in this match-up.

Well, that is my point. I think Vinny's BJJ would top anyone's in MMA probably. and Marshall just doesn't make me think he will drop him like a lot of guys would.

Marshall looked really impressive towards the end of TUF. I would've liked to have seen him in the finale against Bader.

Remember than Vinny's takedowns are suprisingly horrible though.

I thought his elbow bent the other way. Can anyone find a video of that?

Now that is true. What is Marshall's wrestling background? That would save him more then BJJ would IMO if he had a top notch wrestling background.

I'm not sure if I'd put him in the top 5.

Yeah, I think I read somewheres it didn't break. Real ugly looking though.

and yeah, a minute was harsh on my part. But I do think Marshall is fricked if it is on the ground for any significant time.

Who has better BJJ then Vinny in that weight class? Now I do want to put the disclaimer that I think Vinny sucks in other areas enough that there are a ton of guys that would smash him.
