I have no idea why Leites gets this shot, but he will get punished.
Sherdog had a bunch of pro fighters pick the fight it was something like 23 for Silva, 1 for Leites.

And I think that Wiman-Stout fight will get airtime.... it might be the fight of the night
If Wiman takes it down he could end it early. If they both stand it will be fireworks.

I dont think so... Stout has gotten pretty good on the ground. Clementi couldnt finish him despite having him in full mount for 3 minutes of the first round. That fight went to decision.
and Rich is better and stronger than Matt on the ground

An fight with average LW's versus average LHW's, they will always go with the big boys.
Maybe I'm the only one that thinks they are better in their weight class then the bigger guys are in theirs on this one.

I think, but am not sure, that both are coming off loses. I know Wiman was looking great for like 3 straight fights, but I want to say he lost his last one.
And Stout lost a couple in a row in Clementi, then Etim.

kyle, what do you think about melvin vs thiago tavares?

Brian Stann's wiki
Hard not to at least root for the guy. He needs to beat some UFC guys at 205 for me to have a real opinion of him. Not saying WEC sucks or anything.....just that that division did.

i was thinking of stann being the one who fought at that troops fight but it was Cantwell. He is the better of the two but they confuse the hell out of me as to who is who.

Stann vs Cantwell 3 looks like it will be on a card soon looking at the previous results.

I think they were supposed to fight each other at that fight night too. Probably the only two guys that were worth a crap in the WEC 205 division that I can remember.

I think every week I check my DVR, I have a Cantwell vs Stann fight that replayed on WEC. It seems like these guys have fought 5 times.
Wasn't Stann the guy that stopped an armed robbery at a diner or was that some other guy from the WEC or IFL?

Melvin vs thaigo....
IMO, Thiago has it all.. he is fast, strong for his size, a great grappler, and good striker. But for some reason he cant put it together every fight. Sometimes he burns through mofos, and sometimes he just doesnt show up.
Melvin, has all the physical tools. He is bigger, and more explosive than most LWs. He has the kind of hip flexibility that allows him to scramble like no one in the sport, and not hurt himself. He hits like a mack truck, and does NOT get tired.
But his problem is, he is a star and knows it, and sometimes believes the hype too much. He is hard to teach anything to, though he still has a lot to learn.
I think it will be an exciting fight no doubt. But if thiago gets on top, than he might snag a submission quik. But I can almost gaurantee he cant hold Melvin down. And taking him down wont be easy either.
If it stays up, I think Thiago has the cleaner standup, but Thiago has shows a reluctance to stand in and bang it out, even when he is winning the stand up battle. And Melvin will make you pay if you telegraph your takedowns.
Knowing that thiago will likely be unwilling to stand, I think Melvin hurts him with big shots standing, which will cause Thigo to do that half shot, half pull gaurd thing to get Melvin down.
Everyone knows Melvins is susceptible to submissions. His defense is weak. But, that doesnt mean if you get him in your gaurd you will submit him.
Because the most dangerous place to be when in the ring with Melvin Guillard is on your back. That is where you will truly feel the explosiveness and power that guy has. Because he brings it in his ground and pound.
So I think Melvin comes out trying to make a point, and just hits thiago with the kitchen sink standing and on the ground in brutal fashion. and if he gets taken down, I think he will scramble and explode until he gets up, or on top.
IMO, it will be a fight that will remind everyone of why people think Melvin will be a world champion one day. It is a showcase type matchup

Stann KO'd Rhino in WEC, in his next fight he was KO'd by Cantwell in the 2nd round (in a great fight up to that point).
They fought once before that in which Stann KO'd Cantwell in the first round.
I'm not sure I'd say either is better. They are pretty close, IMO.
