Agreed but after you've gotten rocked and you are just laying there the ref isn't going to let the guy just throw hammer fists for the rest of the round. Uriah needed to try to move somewhat to try to get out of that position.

The card wasn't that bad. Had Overeem finished Mir it would've been a lot better.
1st fight was bad arse

Loved the first fight obviously. The whole bar went frickin crazy
Mir just needs to retire, although i though Overeem was about to give away a third straight victory when Mir got him in a choke for a second, not a bad fight
The Aldo fight might be the most boring fight ive seen in a while. I found myself peaking over to another TV screen that was playing Sportscenter than watching that. Knowing it was going 5 rounds was killing me
And thank god the last fight ended quick, i was ready to go out for 2 dollar beer night and it was already past 11

Thanks to Jose Aldo, this card didn't live up to it's potential, IMO. His fight was almost as boring as watching a GSP fight. He didn't impress me at all this weekend.
I didn't like the Faber stoppage, but I agreed with it. Faber was rocked and you could tell he never fully regained his feet and head. Those repeated punches coupled with the fact he wasn't trying to improve his position or do anything was enough for me. Yea he gave him a thumbs up, but he was done. Prior to this fight he looked his best since his days in the WEC. Hopefully he can come back from this loss, and hopefully we see him fight Cruz pretty soon.

Well it's a Brazilian card with mostly Brazilian fighters, and it's free on fs1, kicking off a stretch of 6 Saturday UFC events in a row.....so I can't complain about the quality of this lineup
I am pissed that I can't even watch the pre-prelim fights anymore. Dumb move by the UFC imo. Worst way to market your up & coming fighters is to limit their exposure.

I think the main card is solid as hell.
I know Dana is trying to get people to subscribe to Fight Pass, but limiting exposure of the up and coming guys on the prelims is a bad idea. He is suing the fans again over the streaming too. Dana has been getting killed this week on redditmma.
Askren called him out today on twitter over signing the unknown guy to fight Cormier.

I believe it's $10/month and you get the entire library of the UFC/Pride/Strikeforce/WEC and select undercards and main cards, like the Alexander Gustafsson card. It is utter bullshite overall and will reduce the amount of MMA the mainstream will get to watch

That sounds like a bullshite money grab to me. The UFC/Zuffa should flood the internet/YouTube & cable television with the old pride/ufc fights for free, not charge only the hardcore fans monthly. Those old fights being accessible to the public is their best advertising.

Fight pass was really only set up bc UFC was putting on shows for international markets that weren't airing on cable in the United States.
