I feel your pain brother. his career is far from over though. and you still have roid-head overeem doing his thing. Everyone wants to see him vs. Cain for a unified HW belt.

Imo, it was probably a couple of those huge shots towards the end of the first that are to blame for what Shogun looked like. He was fine before then, just struggling on the ground with a much bigger man. Shogun didn't look right again after that knee.

I too am waiting to see what happens when someone actually catches Jones. But I also wonder ... who the hell will?

Machida might catch Jones if he's to wild like he was when he got his back taken by shogun. Other then that I can't think of anyone in the lhw division who might be able to challenge him.

yea i agree

bones was great, but that wasnt the best shogun we've seen, imo

i've see Shogun fight 2x.

when he beat Machida, and tonight.

looked like two different fighters. obviously different opponents and all that blah blah. but against machida, he was the dictator. against jbj he looked lost.

Machida waits for guys to come to him, thats what he gets criticized for. I think it looked like a different fight because Shogun wasn't hunting down his opponent, he was just trying to survive while Jones beat him everywhere.

not only that, Jones came out fast and wide open from the opening bell. I think this suprised Shogun. He took a couple punches and kicks early that knocked him back and hurt him. I wonder if this is what made him look so sluggish, or if he was unprepared.

That's what it looked like to me he seemed rocked most of the fight and there was a big slam/ throw Jones got on him at one point and I wondered if that had knocked the breath out as well.

That shot Jones gave Shogun when he just reached back and hooked him from the guard about a minute before the fight ended was ridiculous.

He is unquestionably the most physically gifted LHW ever.

Silva has the head movement and hand speed to strike with jones, but what happens when he gets his arse thrown to the ground?

If Silva would come out looking like he used to and not looking bored like we saw against Sonnen, and Jones came in like tonight ... I think that could be the best fight I've ever seen.

exactly... I truly think its going to take another freak athlete coming in to derail him.

I think the floodgates might be about to open with truly great athletes coming into MMA.

Dang did Forest take a dive? that looked like a weak left jab and he flew back like he was shot out of a cannon. When I watched this PPV i was at BWW so I didn't really see it close up.
