Damn, I follow track pretty closely (or used to) and I never remember a 200m straight track event.

His 9.88 time for the front half of the race was the fastest 100m time so far this year.

Who is to say he is oveshadowed? Everyone knows Bolt, everyone knows Gay. Gay is the fastest American, just not the fastest man in the world. What he did today is on iaaf so the whole world knows.
