I really don't feel the need to justify myself, but just for the sake of conversation I will.
When I was about 9 or 10 we were in baton rouge for the summer coaches meetings. We went to the mall and my mom let me buy a mini basketball. I picked out the UNC one with the ram on it because it looked cool. Ever since then I have followed them. My dad never took me to LSU games as a kid. I went to their bball camps because it was the cool thing to go to. I had better experiences at UGA, Nicholls, and Dixie bball camps. LSU's camp was just a big slumber party for a week. now I will admit watching the LSU pickup games in the dungeon were worth the money. I never attended an LSU football game till I was in my 20's with my brother who went there for a year. I sparingly went to some LSU basketball games as a teen. But only because I was invited. I never wanted to go to LSU as a teenager. I as a basketball player wanted to go to Indiana or Carolina and try to walk on. Of course I wasn't good enough but I wanted to try. I could not afford it, so I took my scholarships and played Juco in Missouri, and transferred to Nicholls. I do cheer for Nicholls, but my heart has always been with UNC. So to me cheering for them is as natural to me as cheering for LSU is for you.
Now as an adult I started attending LSU games with my brother as a way to spend time with him. Of course I like going to them and I cheer for them passionately. It's fun don't get me wrong. But if you want to call me a bandwagon fan, I am a bandwagon LSU fan, because I would not go unless they were good in football. I have given up my season tickets for football because I don't sit with my brother anymore. That in my opinion is bandwagon. Not my connection I have to UNC. So there it is.

You seem like a good feller, Kracka.
Nothing personal. I just don't like Roy or North Carolina.

Why would I have a problem with someone not liking them?
I do take issue with the Roy Williams/Lester Earl issue, but I am tired of argueing with people over it. It's pointless.

I try, but I am still a douche.

I pull for Memphis b/c i had a lot of friends that went there and used to live in the area (and also a little of Miss. State since my sister is an alum) but if they were to play LSU i would be repping the Bayou Bengal version of the Tigers no question.

I've mentioned this a few times, but feel the need to do so again because this applies to me. I grew up 2 hours from Durham and Moved to La. to start my Soph. year of high school. I was always a big Duke fan and still am to this day. LSU comes before they do though, if they play......no question.

Born in Memphis and went to the University of Memphis for a semester so Memphis is my basketball team. My dad was born in Monroe and went to LSU a few semesters so he forced me to be a LSU football fan
Best thing he has ever forced me to do

Kracka, i find it funny that people get so pissed about this.

you are just trying to frick with people though, unlike the rest of these guys

I think it is ok to like whoever you want to. If you are a fan of sports then you can choose to like whoever you want. How many people in this thread like a Baseball team that they didn't play for or live anywhere close to. I like LSU first and I went to school there. That doesn't make me any more of a fan than someone who just loves LSU just becouse. Man, I always ask my freinds who have always been cubs fans why they like a team from Chicago when they have to drive 19hrs to see a game. I realize though that it is their choice. You are only a bandwagoner if you only like a team only when they are up. That being said UNC

Ron, normally i do ... and i know you hate me on here but i'm not this time.
Grew up playing basketball .... put a lot of time into it. I always watched UNC ... never followed, or really even watched LSU basketball. I grew up liking Dean Smith and idolizing Jordan ... during basketball season i bleed Carolina blue.
So i'm not just fricking with people. I'll be decked out in my UNC stuff come tomorrow.
I wish they were playing any team but LSU ... but that's just how it goes.

It honestly doesn't bother me. There was a comment in another thread that bothered me a little, but for the most part, I enjoy how much it bothers some people. The rest of them its all in good fun.

I have had the distinct privilege of seeing both LSU and UNC win national championships live. I was there 15 rows up from the Carolina bench when Webber called the timeout, and I was in that same dome when LSU beat Ohio State. So to me that is fricking awesome and something not alot of people can say they did.

Dude you need to not worry about it and pull for who you want. But please don't show up at our party wearing UNC colors for your own sake. You know how LSU fans are, I saw one of my buddies hit a guy in the head with his glass of crown becouse he was a Buckeye fan a couple years ago. Just let it go man.

If I were a bandwagoner too I could say this too. Saw Syracuse win a national title in baskeball, LSU in football. I'll just be a syracuse fan now to say this

I pull for Syracuse because I lived there for 4 years and got into it...that said i would burn the city down if they played LSU.
Only school I pull against LSU is the might lions of SLU.
