I didn't deny that at all. But as much as they were favored last year it's even more so this year. It's well deserved and makes sense.

that's what everyone said last year

Were they the 2010 chalk? sure. Heavy chalk? sure.

But, anyone that had watched them all year, knew that they were vulnerable. The hitting slump that began vs Yanks in '09 WS, carried over all the way until after the 2010 AS break, where a four game sweep at St.L dropped them to a few over 500, then the late season rally. I had made mention here last year a few times that SF(whom locked them up all season), was the one team I feared for Oct, and sure enough they eeked out some 1 run wins in winning NL.

If the pitching slips up, StL and Mil's bats scare me a bit. But, I'm more confident this Oct than any of the last four, despite the better NL competition and teams than in '08 and '09.

This is the Phils WS to win or lose..no excuses.

it was deserved last year ..they were hands down the best team in the national league last season ... tough to forget the cardinals 2006 playoff run, though ..

Im basing this on pitching alone. I'm not confidant in Oswalt, but Uncle Chalie is very loyal and wanted to give Oswalt the job. I would have preferred Vanimal, and I believe so did the majority of Phillies fans. My other concern is Hamels, and Howard. The last couple of Postseasons Howard hasn't showed up and Hamels has struggled his last few starts. Pence will be a huge factor, as well.
