...he has a longer wind up and his arm drops all the way back where gms and coaches are worried it would get swatted on the way back up

brees, for example, has a very compact release...rivers doesn't

Rivers mechanics are all out of whack, but he has always drawn Marino comparisons for the speed of his release

Tebow is a gamer, he just gets it done. It may not be pretty, but he'll find a way to move the chains. If the Denver coaching staff would let Tebow do his thing (tuck the ball and run when the opportunity is there), then he can be a better quarterback than many of the NFL retreads that have jobs... I'm looking at you Alex Smith.

I don't know why you highlighted that. I was mearly stating a fact.

I also have no idea how you fathom that Rivers has a "way long" throwing motion and slow release. He has one of the quickest releases in the NFL. If you can't see that, you don't watch any football.

I'm highlighting this because you're an idiot. Probably shouldn't call people ignorant when you can't spell. I mean, that's not even a typo...that's how you thought the word was spelled. The previous highlight was because that little snippet had no bearing on what we were discussing...I watch a ton of NFL games. I'm a hardcore fan, and Rivers is great, but I believe you're equating having a long, slow windup to sucking. He has a long and slow windup AND IT DOESN'T MATTER

You should go check out his release compared to other qbs...its long and slow, and it has zero impact on his game because he's incredible

Please keep continuing to prove your ignorance.

You obviously can't watch too much football/football highlights it you've "banned" ESPN in your household like a fool.

Notice how you're the only one claiming that Rivers has a long release. No one agrees with you. Try watching him play. He has awkward mechanics, but his release is one of the quickest in the NFL.

And if you want to be a grammar cop, then be one, Dbag. It's called an iPhone.

it's called the "urban demographic"

It's marketing slang for "she appeals to black viewers"

But really, how the hell are any of their personalities outside of SVP and his lackey employed at a major network?

And please tell me how I've said having a long, slow delivery means sucking. I never said that. I think Rivers is a top 5 NFL QB, but he doesn't have a long, slow delivery regardless.

Yeah I have one. I don't see how the iphone changed the word "merely" to "mearly" or how you would just accidentally press the wrong buttons...you didn't know how to spell it, and that's fine...it happens, just probably shouldn't go around the internet telling people how "ignorant" (that word really gets thrown out too much here) they are

because Rivers does have a long, slow delivery, and apparently you've never seen him play, but you seem really defensive about it

using words like "fool" "ignorant", etc...

I've seen him play live as well and it sticks out from the plaza level of qualcomm, that ball dangles out there...I'm not saying his motion is retarded slow, but when held against the compact, quick releases commonly featured in the NFL, well then...

this is stupid because it's not like I'm saying he sucks...guy is awesome

Notice how you have no argument, so you've resorted to my spelling of one word. My iPhone changed it. I apologize if that's angered you so much, but you in fact are quite ignorant.

If you are this "hardcore NFL fan" like you claim to be, then you'd understand that Rivers gets the ball out at one of the quickest rates in the game.

As another poster stated, his quick release has been compared to Dan the Man out of my Pitt.

Go educate yourself with some football before you make ridiculous claims.

Nobody said you were saying Rivers sucked. It's called reading comprehension, bro.

The argument has nothing to do with Rivers ability. It's simply: long, slow release vs quick release.

You obviously couldn't see anything from your Plaza seats because it universly understood that Rivers gets the ball out at a very fast rate.

Keep trollin' though, bud.

actually, you seem pretty hung up on that...I'm just pointing out the irony...and your iPhone didn't correct it to "mearly"

I just typed "merely" into my iPhone...didn't change it

you're lying about something really dumb

as for Pirrip...his release is what it is...slow and fast is subjective I guess so there is no right and wrong, but watch the guy play...IT STICKS OUT

reading comprehension? No, it's silly having an internet argument about a tiny, yes throwing motion is highly overrated unless you're talking about overhand versus sidearm, aspect of player that we both agree is awesome.

It's not subjective. You can take a stop watch and time similar to what coaches in baseball do with pitchers and their delivery to home plate.

We both agree Rivers has a quirky, unorthodox side arm delivery which has nothing to do with the argument at hand.

We both agree Rivers is a very good NFL QB which has nothing to do with the argument at hand

The argument is regarding Rivers' release speed, which if watched/timed can be proven to be one of the quickest in the League.

Dan the Man had one of the quickest releases the game has ever seen, and as another poster pointed out Rivers' gets it out at a comparable pace.

I'm all for having a good sports related argument, but if all you have to argue about is my spelling of one word that my iPhone changed, then there's no point trying to hold a conversation/argument with you.

Just because he has a quirky, sidearmish type release doesnt mean its slow. What about this release looks slow to you?

you called me "ignorant" all i did was point out the irony. then you lied about it by blaming your iphone, which I find hilarious because it's so meaningless and yet you lie about it.

but if all you have to argue about is my spelling of one word that my iPhone changed

dude, just stop. As for the Rivers part, why don't we have someone time it or something. I just clicked on a highlight video because I'm more than capable of being wrong, and the first throw in the video, I can see the ball hanging out way back at a stand still...you won't see that with Rivers' contemporaries

and this is the last post I'm going to talk about it unless someone can give us a definitive answer, until then it is subjective...I think Marino has a much much quicker release, you, and another poster who compared him to Marino, Wikipedia and a chargers forum are the only places I can find an example of this comparison, think it's comparable so it's not really worth it...back to the point of this thread

hoge is a douche
