Wait you’re saying texas sos was bad?

The last 2-3 games need to be floating based on your conf record. Top teams in conf need to be playing one another in November.
Iron bowl, rivalry games etc can be played over Halloween weekend.

Time to expand the brackets to 64, then we can debate which 6-6 deserves it more.

I'm saying their conference schedule was extremely favorable compared to the rest of the SEC. They dodged Bama, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Ole Miss and even LSU. All of who OU had to play for example. You can't tell me with a straight face that isn't completely unbalanced. We all said that when the SEC first released the schedule.

Cignetti left because of a pay raise, and because he was going to one of the big 2 conferences. He tells the schedule story because it sounds better than saying he left for more money.
It’s always about the money. When they try to deflect about the money, then it’s definitely about the money. Most of us would have done the same thing.

I’m not sure I’d call a 9 spot difference in sos completely unbalanced but you do you

No one is arguing the Big 10 has parity. Contender is not the same as basement dweller.
Rutgers is normally a basement dweller. Rutgers has a stint and then was largely non competitive.
All of this schools have had eras where they’re highly competitive and able to knock off a big school.

Didn’t he say that though? Not that this would be a “reasonable “ reason, but he did say he looked at the schedule and realized , in the short term, they had a good chance to win quite a few games right away.

Went to the store this morning, listening to the radio on the way there, and Heather Dinich was being interview on a show. I was thinking the same thing OP mentioned and she transitioned right to it as one of the problems we have in CFB right now.
Fans warned the conferences that expanding and getting rid of divisions was going to lead to massive disparities in scheduling. As usual, the fans were right.
