i agree. ULL is also the only school that has been given permission to use the name by the original "university of louisiana". i really don't see the problem that people from other schools have with this

LSU hates it because they're the flagship school and they don't want us to try to challenge that. Who knows why Tech and the rest care..

If ULL was the best state funded school in the state, they would be the flagship university would they not?? Granted they may have 2 or 3 majors that are better for example nursing but overall no.

I'm not saying UL is or will be the flagship school, I'm saying that LSU doesn't want us to even try to challenge it. And another thing that sucks is that LSU is funded more than the entire University of Louisiana system combined.

louisiana has way too many 4 year schools. some of those should be CC's and schools like ULL and Tech should be getting more funding IMO

Schools like Tech and ULM exist for two reasons:
- So an up-and-coming coach can come in, have a decent recruiting class, and win a co-SBC title so he can become the running backs coach at an SEC school and make three times as much money.
- So a washed-up coach who just lost his job at a Big XII school because of a DUI can start over from scratch at a place where nobody can find him and make fun of him.
The weight room at West Monroe High School is better than the weight rooms at Tech and ULL combined.

I'm not disputing the fact. But people bring that into every UL-LSU dick-measuring contest. And most of the time it's irrelevant to the discussion.

look it up, it's called the LSU rule. once we were granted the university of louisiana name, we were taken to court, pushed mostly by lsu backers. the judge, an lsu grad, ruled that ul be called usl again and that all name changes go through legislature.. even though when lsuno changed to uno, they only went through the lsu board of supervisors.
