The UNOFFICIAL 2014 French Open Thread Federer is -225 against Gulbis, thinking about loading up. Anyone think Gulbis beats Federer? I just don't see it myself.

I saw it. I bet on Gulby.

I’m not a huge Sharapova guy, but either she’s been doing squats and lunges, or this pink dress is cut very nicely.

I'm still debating. I just found that picture shocking because it's clearly a medal double.

Rafael Nadal v. Lajovic: Next question.*
David Ferrer v. Kevin Anderson: Next question.

Rafael Nadal v. David Ferrer: Rafael Nadal

GGL v. Gael Monfils: I lean GGL here, but I can't completely count out Monfils.

Murray v. Verdasco: I lean Murray, but that's more of a vote against Verdasco. Either way, I think Murray will make it through, and will likely beat the winner of GGL and Monfils.

Rafa will beat Murray.

Berdych v. Gulbis: I can't wait for this one. I think Berdy is the pick, but I'm rooting for Gulby.

Novak Djokovic v. Milos Raonic: Djoker. Next question.

Djoker will beat the winner of Berdy/Gulbis in four sets.

The final everyone expects will likely happen.

Kid, you seem knowledgable, how would you handle these futures?
Gulbis 100-1
Murray 30-1

I'm thinking of going big on berdych as this will be the least juice I will need to pay to hedge.

Berdych v. Gulbis

I'm thinking this will be the best match until the joker-nadal final.

I also like Monfils to beat GGL until he implodes per usual in the next round.

Monfils is +178 against Murray......thinking about putting a little on him to hedge my Murray future.

I guess you kinda have to go in on Berdych, but I wouldn't go huge. Djokovic is going to beat Raonic, and so if Gulbis beats Berdych he's faced with a match against against Djokovic that he's gonna lose, and that you can't really do much with in the way of hedging because Djokovic is gonna be about -650 against him.

Let's assume you have 50 on the Gulby future.

I'd put 100 on Berdy at -150 (so risking 150 to win 200). If you go any bigger, say risk 300 to win 200, and you lose, you're trying to recoup 350 instead of 50, and the only way you're going to be able to recoup that is by risking like 3K with a bet on Djoker.

I'd let Murray ride, or at most put a small play on Monfils. I think Murray will win that match, but I don't think he has a very good shot against Nadal. So try to recoup your initial investment plus a little more there.

JMO.
