Nadal Quadrant:
Nadal/Thiem v. Mayer/Gabashvilli
v.
Zopp/Lajovic v. Sock/(Johnson/Lokoli)
Ferrer/Bolelli v. Seppi/Monaco
v.
Karlovic/Haider v. Michon/Anderson
Does anybody here scare Nadal? I know Ferrer beat him in Monte Carlo, but I don't see him doing that again, especially in a five set match. Nadal will get a hint of a test against Dominic Thiem, and and then I don't see him being pushed again until the quarter when he'll likely play Ferrer, and I see him beating Ferrer comfortably.
Prediction: Nadal beats Ferrer
Murray Quadrant (formerly Stan The Man Quadrant):
Garcia/Mannarino v. Lopez/Young
v.
Monfils/Struff v. Belluci/Fognini
v.
Gasquet/Berlocq v. Verdasco/Cuevas
v.
Kohlschreiber/Istomin v. Matosevic/Murray
I have no idea who comes out of this section. This is imho the strongest section. I think Fognini is most likely to come out of the top 8, and the bottom 8 is anybody's guess. Probably Murray is the favorite, but you never know with him. Kohlschreiber could take him out, and Verdasco could take him out if he advances.
I don't see anybody on here beating Nadal in the semis.
Prediction: Murray beats Fognini
The Federer Quadrant:
Berdy/Nedovy v. Paire/Bautista
v.
Robredo/Schepper v. Isner/Kukushkin
v.
Youzhny/Stepanek v. Bagnis/Gulbis
v.
Tursunov/Querrey v. Schwartzmann/Federer
Federer will get more of a test than he wants from Schwartzmann, who is a solid young dirtballer. The winner of that four will be the winner of the Federer/Schwartzmann match and will almost certainly play Gulbis. That could be a tough matchup for Fed as well. In the top half, I'd say it's almost a toss-up between Berdy and Bautista.
I think you have to consider Federer the favorite to come out of here. Or maybe it's Gulbis. He's been hot lately. I doubt Djokovic likes that as Fed has always given him more trouble than anybody. And Gulbis is sneaky as well.
Prediction:
Fed beats Berdy (I almost went with Gulbis here).
The Novak Quadrant:
Raonic/Vesely v. Gonzales/Simon
v.
Dolgo/Granollers v. Haase/Klizan
v.
Tsonga/Melzer v. Niem/Janowicz
v.
Cilic/Tamke v. Djokovic/Chardy
I think Cilic gives Djoker somewhat of a test, and maybe takes a set off him, but then Djoker prevails, and then prevails over Jo Willy in four sets as well. The only one in that top 8 that can challenge Djoker is Dolgo, and I'm not sure he'll come out of there. Could easily be Raonic, who played Djoker tight in Rome but won't do it again.
Prediction:
Novak beats Raonic
Semifinal prediction:
Nadal beats Murray in 3
Novak beats Fed in 5
Final preidction:
Novak beats Nadal in 5
I know, Novak v. Nadal: I lack imagination. But whaddaya gonna do?

Good. The tennis world is better with her and her bratty sister packing for home

Ok here's a quick poll of the 15 of us on TD who follow tennis:
Which 3 male players who have not won a slam do you think will do so in the next 5 years?
I'll say it's Dimitrov, Raonic, and...maybe Nishikori. I want Dolgopolov to win one but he's so inconsistent.

Nishikori
Dimitrov
Berdych
Tsonga
Gulbis
Dolgopolov
I agree with you that Dolgo probably won't -- too inconsistent -- but he has the tools. I love watching that guy play.
I'd be surprised if Raonic wins one. He doesn't move well enough. Can you name a grand slam champion that didn't move well? Serious question. I'm not going to look it up, but none are coming to mind. Phillipoussis came close, but never sealed the deal.*
I can see somebody coming out from nowhere and winning a grand slam before I can see Milos doing it. Somebody like Janowicz. Or maybe Bernard Tomic if he ever decided to get even remotely close to getting in decent shape. Or maybe Dominic Thiem will blow up.
It would actually kinda piss me off if either Raonic or Isner won a major. I hate servebots. People bitch about how they slowed down Wimbledon, but god bless them for slowing down Wimbledon. Mark Phillipoussis should not be making grand slam finals.

I don't get the Serena hate on this board.

Marin Cilic belongs on that list as well. He could put together 7 wins.

Besides the "Big 3" (Murray has kind of fallen off since his surgery last year), this era actually stinks IMO.

Women's draw is wide open with top 3 seeds out.
Nadal should be on cruise control through to the finals.
Federer could have trouble with Gulbis next round as could Djoker with Tsonga.

Kind of tired of the overhyping of her because she is cute.
Tsonga rolling along nicely. Raonic/Simon is pretty interesting right now. Lol at the vintage Isner scoreline, with three tiebreaks and a 7-5.

I don't care that Isner's American. I don't like him.

I don't mind Isner. I don't like him, but I don't mind him.
Jack Sock, on the other hand, I can't stand. Spoiled lazy douche with a temper tantrum problem.

I agree. And same for the Harrison kid. Kind of hard to pull for these guys.
The US has a nice crop of up and coming juniors with three in the ITF world juniors top 10 (Tiafoe, Kozlov, and Mmoh). Hopefully they will be different.
Even though she lost, I like watching the young Townsend girl play. Very entertaining style. Plus, both her and Sloane Stephens both have very likable personalities...unlike Serena.

Taylor Townsend ain't small. She's got big game, too, though she lost today. And I bet against her. Navarro is solid on clay.
