The thing I hate most about baseball...

Scott Kazmir is pitching a great game. Held the Rangers scoreless for the first 4 innings and is enjoying a 3-0 lead.
He just nailed Andrus of the Rangers in the fricking knee with a 95 mph fastball with a 1-2 count. It obviously slipped out of his grip, but Andrus was in extreme pain for a good 30 seconds before he hobbled to 1st base.
Why do pitchers never apologize in this situation? It's horrible. It's the only sport in which you don't apologize or make sure that your opponent is okay. I hate that tradition - the players need to man up and change it.

Give me a fricking break. It was a mistake that could end a guy's season. If it was football it would be a 15 yard penalty.

If it were a try accident then I would say sorry to the guy especially if I hit him in the knee. If I was intentionally doing it I would stare him in the eye and tell him frick you, then Nolan Ryan his arse.

The reason you apologize is BECAUSE it was an accident.
Like a previous poster said, if you hit a guy on PURPOSE you don't apologize. But if it's an honest accident than hell yes, apologize.
NFL, NBA, and Soccer players all apologize constantly throughout the game and help each other up. Those are not "gay" sports.

Apologizing to someone for an accident doesn't make you a pussy. You guys are mistaking kindness for weakness. I would be more than willing to tell someone "my bad" if I smoked him in the knee with a 95 mph fastball but don't think I wouldn't knock someones teeth out of their mouth in the same game if it were warranted.
