a friend of mine from high school's old man was a higher up in sales for the group that owned KAJUN and WIBR .. etc .. before it was sold ... i was a freshman at LSU in 1991 at about the time talk radio first became popular ... did a lot of work for KAJUN FM in marketing/sales and programming .. back when brodhead was still alive and on the air ... i got to know all of those guys that did shows on WIBR ...

yeah .. by then, was way out of it .. i only worked there from 1991-93, but i still consider that the heyday of sports talk radio .. a lot of the posters that listen to it now and comment on it today don't know how funny that shite was back in the day ... you actually had some entertaining as shite callers ...

i really don't know any of the channel 9 people all that well ... from what i had always heard .. steve's a nice guy .. comes from the richard condon, steve myers (creator of tiger rag magazine) group from LSU back in the day ... i know more of the WIBR, WJBO, and channel 2 group because a lot of the companies were tied in to each other ...

I think alot of it has to do with the hosts. You have some good callers but the hosts either suck or they don't let you have the time to have your say!!! Look everyone bashes Buddy, but Rag you were around when buddy was just getting started in the early 90's. How was he???

buddy was a really nice guy when he first got started, but he really let that shite go to his head early on ... i mean, he bought his airtime and licked LSU's arse crack .. well, of course a host is going to have popularity as one of the only call in shows in town in BR talking nothing but LSU ... for some reason, songy, from what the other hosts told me, turned into a royal back stabber behind the scenes professionally for some reason ... most of it had to do with insecurity .. he was prolly the worst radio person at the station both talent-wise and resume-wise ...

he's not one of my favorite people .. he got his job because he works uber cheap and over the years has convinced himself that he got it on merit ...

for all of his shite .. on air, voice-wise, yeah .. scrappy's better than songy .. but that isn't saying much .. i know scrappy's old man from years ago .. never met scrappy ... he just needs to tone his fricking ego down a notch or 117 ... he does remind me a lot of songy when he throws people under the bus ... i think songy doesn't like scrappy because he reminds him of himself ..
