That one I'm talking about landed near the pin, reversed direction and rolled like 40 feet off the green, then reversed direction again and rolled 40 feet behind the hill that sits behind the pin

it was 14 but that was a ridiculous roll.

Lobbed shot lands next to the cup, then backs up and covers 90 feet in an "S" pattern to well off the green

I'm not sure that Phil has ever played a better round. I think he has the best round of the first two days by 2 strokes.

Knowing that the Open was going to be here, why wouldn't Tiger play the AT&T a couple of times that last few years?

Not even remotely close to the same. One is rolling 9.5-10 and the other is 11-11.5. That's 3 feet of difference.

The Pro Am played there is really played at the wrong time of the year there. Its wet and its spongy which sucks to play on Poa Annua.

It's still not as bad as it was at Shinnecock Hills in 04.

Quite a few players under par early on. Both DLIII & Perry are -4 thru 8. USGA must have gave 'em an easy setup today.

Look out tomorrow.

I read that number 7 was set up under 100 yards today. Shortest hole in major championship history.

Yep, it's 107 from the back tee. I think I heard 99 to the front pin.
