CP3 is one of the leagues top players and he doesn't play above the rim.
People love to see the highlights of Howard and Lebron throwing blocks of the court or backboard.
Raising the goal is ridiculous because people have been shooting at 10 ft their whole life. Do you just assume people would be able to make baskets at all on a considerable taller goal.
The only thing I wish the NBA still had were the dominant post up big men. They just don have as many it seems anymore.

IMO it is more that people just can't guard the ridiculous offensive talents in the league. They can play defense, but the offensive game and athleticism is off the charts.
You really can not guard people like Bryant, James, and Paul.
