Saying that defense was better during the '70s and '80s discredits you completely.

That's like saying the '80s were full of home runs in baseball or quarterback play was at its best in the NFL during the '60s or college basketball was full of parity during the '60s.

Ok, well some us who have been around a lot more than young little fricks like you who don't know shite, but think they do, mouth off. I may not be able to convice you the NBA is not as good as it was, but you certainly can't convince me otherwise, so we agree to disagree.

i love how he claims that defense was so good, but games were routinely played in the 110s and 120s

That 186-184 Pistons/Nuggets game in 1983 was an epic defensive duel.

Next he'll argue that the earth is flat and the young fricks today know nothing about geography because he sailed the ocean blue in 1492.

OK, you are funny dude, but where did I say I hate the NBA?? Did I say I don't watch it today??? Just because I said in my opinion the NBA was better in the 70's & 80's doesn't mean I don't watch it today, I just think the game was better back then. There are probably folks out there who think the game was better in the 60's when they had Wilt vs. Bill Russell matchups. I wasn't there, but I respect their opinions. The trouble with you & others is that you don't respect anyone's opinion but your own or a select few.

they knew how to fast break back in the day, not selfish and holding the ball for their own shots.
it was tough to beat BB in the 80's, outright wars.
it's gotten much better lately, several years ago it was the worst...

Damn then tell me what you think of the NFL, College basketball and College football. Do you want to talk about the arrests and fights involving athletes from those sports. Are they a bunch of thugs. Most NBA players went to your major Div 1 schools.lol. They came from the same environments/areas as NCAA basketball and Football players and NFL players.

And when a team like the Spurs are doing good people hate the NBA because they say their style of play is boring, they want the offense, dunkers, glamour stars, etc.lol. But hey they play Defense.

I hated when people bitched about good defense. Some of the best playoff rivalries of all-time revolved around hard-nosed defense - Bulls/Knicks, Pistons/Bulls, Heat/Knicks
