Lake recorded a conversation between himself, suge knight, and bush. On that tape bush agrees that he owes lake money. Suge tells him to pay the money so USC will not get hurt. How come Reggie paid Michaels but won't pay Lake?

Again, why does usc give sideline passes to convicted felons?
Again, why does usc allow athletes to work for convicted felons?

"b/c they can"
Apparently so. If bama allowed felons around the program, the ncaa would have its head neck deep up bama's arse.

not gonna happen SC is a money maker for the NCAA
First, I would like someone to prove to me that USC (or any one football team in the country) is so valuable to the entire NCAA that they would go easy on them. I mean seriously think about what you are saying. You are asking everyone to believe that one sport, from one school won't be penalized because of the financial impact it would have on an organization as large as the NCAA. It's complete bullshite.
Secondly, not only would the financial impact be negligible but the NCAA COI are usually made up of academic minded individuals who really could care less about big money sports. In fact, I think the opposite is true. I think they are looking for a reason to stick to certain entities that totally and blatantly disregard rules that they make. Trust me, their pride in their organization (and its rules) is a lot higher on their scale of importance than what USC's football team means to the NCAA.

you are severely underestimating the importance in USC to all TV markets from the Rockies and west. It's THE biggest football program in a major media market, by far.
Bama doesn't have near the national appeal or draw of USC. Also, Bama's loss could easily be picked up by other SEC schools as it's a conference deep in powers. Finally, Bama is not located in a major media market at all.

Don't know why you're laughing. You said the only taped conversations lake had was of bush's step father, which is fricking false.

yes, to schools they can afford to do this to.

There is no taped convesration of Suge Knight threatening Bush to pay Lake. That is out of this world. Even Yahoo.com does not report that. If you believe it to be true, you are pretty gullible.

Are you really this naive?
have you not noticed the TV deals that are signed? How they defend their brand fiercely in merchandising? money is VERY important to the NCAA.

Read the book "the tarnished heisman" and then get back to me.
I know you're not gonna respond to this question, but why does usc have so many felons involved in their program?

If USC is really hammered in terms of no TV and such, you might as well disband the Pac-10 because Oregon St and Washington St will be bankrupt

TV deals are signed between conferences and networks, not the ncaa.
"how they defend their brand fiercely"
There is only 1 ncaa, so who are they defending it from?

NCAA has to have more than that for major sanctions. The bopok, itself, was unable to provide evidence of USC's knowledge or even that they should have known.
Look, USC will lose a fee schollies for a couple fo years and maybe vacate a few wins. You are gonna have to get over this.
I don't know why USC has a couple of felons on the sideline. Because they can I guess, as can LSU.

and the NCAA receives a portion as these schools are all NCAA member institutions. Also, deals like the BCS TV contracts are done at a national level, not school or conference. The NCAA keeps a ton, and pays the BCS bowl participants pre-determined amounts.

unlicensed dealers of their merchandise who have not paid fees to the NCAA to sell NCAA branded gear.

LSU cheats as do all major schools, but USC and Notre Dame (to a lesser degree) are in the unique bulletproof position b/c of the lack of similar alternatives in terms of TV /ad draw.

USC was banned from tv before, correct? Did oregon st or washington st file for bankruptcy then?

These schools are fuuuucked financially right now. They've had talks about cutting their athletic departments back to only football, basketball, and volleyball. If they lose the revenue USC brings into the Pac-10, they are completely fricked.
The era of TV bans is pretty much over
