I've watched a lot of games since the playoffs started, and in almost every one I felt like the home team was getting the calls. Is that a conspiracy to extend the first round, or are the refs just impacted by the home crowds?

You do realize that in this game, OKC has taken 14 free shots and the Lakers have only taken 7

It's a conspiracy for the NBA to get more $$$ by extending series.

The Lakers do this EVERY SINGLE YEAR if no one has noticed. They win when they need to and do not always show up at other times. Like game 4. Kobe barely even attempted any shots and the Lakers didn't really give a shite knowing they would just go back to LA and blow them out in game 5.

Happens every year. Lakers win game 5. Game 6 will be close and either team may win, then if it goes 7, the Lakers will blow them out in game 7.

The difference is that this year the Lakers were demonstrably worse than they have been at any point in time during the previous two seasons.

This as a general rule. And it is because the home team plays with more energy in general and does more little things to get the calls.

All the conspiracy theory stuff is retarded.

Free throw discrepancy doesn't tell the whole story.

I haven't watched this game, so it isn't included in my statement. Also, posting FTAs really doesn't prove anything. OKC was one of the top free throw shooting teams in the NBA this season, LA was 17th.

You say that now. I say they are the defending champs and better than last year's team, but only motivated when they need to win. I think they lost interest in OK City and now are going to blow them out just because they can and are a little pissed.

Yes that is why Oklahoma has shot more free throws than the Lakers in every game, including all 3 in LA.

keep telling yourself that

A 2 to 1 difference tells a lot

You have the Lakers driving to the basket in this game and getting no calls

On the other end of the floor, you have Durant throwing up a wild jump shot while literately slinging his body into a defender standing a foot from him and getting a shooting foul

They are much younger and playing with more energy, so yes. What part of "general rule" and playing with more energy gets the calls did you not understand?

I was talking about their performance in the regular season. Post all-star break they had something like the 6th or 7th best record in the west IIRC. Last season they crushed it after the all-star break. Maybe they'll turn it around. Just saying that I could see more reason to doubt them this year. I knew Houston never stood a chance last season.

exactly

When the crowd gets roaring, the refs let it affect their calls.

The general idea is that home/road records are so different because role players can't make shots on the road. After watching games this year, I think it's because refs tend to make calls that please the crowd (not saying they do it on purpose).

Stern isn't gonna let the Lakers lose the series.. So this is not a surprise.

Because they are getting wide open dish offs. Bynum has like 5 of those already.

They're getting the calls now because of the score differential. Same situation wouldn't have been a foul in the first.

I'm just saying they are not as motivated and feel like they can turn it on whenever they want. I personally think they can turn it on whenever they want, esp against an inferior team like OKC.

Wide open? The last time Bynum scored, he dunked over 3 people

Has nothing to do with it.

Explain how Stern has gotten the Lakers out to about a 20 point lead so far.

Wide open in the NBA = no contact.
