You don't think your declining interest could have anything to do with the obvious decline of Kobe Bryant?

Kobe leads the NBA in scoring per 48 minutes

He is scoring .76 points per minute
Last season he was at .695
2 seasons ago .74
3 seasons ago .727

He is getting .135 assist per minute
Last season he was at .128
2 seasons ago .136

He is getting .154 rebounds per minute
Last season he was at .139
2 seasons ago .144

Has he declined athletically? Yes. He isn't the early 2000's Kobe, but his result sure as hell haven't declined in the Kobe/Pau era.

I really do agree with this. From the way he has been coddled and pushed down our throats by the league and ESPN

Yea, it really ruined the NBA when they did the same thing for Jordan.

afraid within 2 years we'll have 2-4 teams that are relevant and the gap between them and the "have nots" will be enormous

That certainly didn't stop the popularity of the NBA in the 80s.

It took seven pages before you donned your Lebron armor and jumped in here to defend him??? You're getting slow.

So, the NBA's popularity rises and falls with the images of its star players to a greater degree than the NFL does. So this comparison to the NFL, is really irrelevant. It may prove some type of moral point, but it doesn't disprove the notion that the image of the players is one of the NBA's problem.

Good points. But to say one league is full of thugs and another isn't is crazy. The players come from the same schools, same cities, same hoods. Most cases hang with each other. Going to one league don't make you a "thug". You don't find many cases of violence against people when you look at NBA arrests. If the NBA is full of thugs, the NFL is really thugged out if people are talkin about "thug" as in terms of violence and getting arrrested, smoking weed, etc.

On a side note, ANOTHER NFL player, Laurence Maroney just got arrested on weapons charges in STL for riding dirty with 3 of his homies. Like I said these players come from the same areas, hoods, etc. Just because you go to the NBA don't make you a thug. There's teams in the NBA that have players that have never been in the news for arrests or any kind of trouble, but the league gets labeled full of thugs. But we all know the reason why.

I never argued this frickstick. I said the city has supported the Cavs since 71. Of course attendence was higher while we were winning more games! That doesnt mean the city and fans dont support the Cavs.

We had sellouts for every game back in the early 90's also.

1. It took you no time, in your original post in fact, to start crying about Lebron, so think about that before you make your usual post about me.

2. As usual, you just deflect my post to rant on how I'm defending Lebron, while completely ignoring the point I made in my post, which is clearly a good point.
