No.

Should have let them race to the checker. Every car involved in the wreck was stopped when the caution came out.

The second pack of cars that fell waaay back from the leaders were coming in hot on that pack, hence why the officials had to throw the caution. Friend of mine was at the race, it's just the TV crowd that's screaming from the top of their keyboards on social media sites because they didn't show the hazard of the cars on the track with that back pack coming in. The reason they let them finish last night was because the cars were waaay into the infield.

Probably not. Isn't this his last full season, as in he will race every now and then in the coming years?

^^ This.

He's not completely retiring, just going to start running a partial schedule. I guarantee you that he'll have a ride any time he wants to put the firesuit on, especially for Daytona.

Did he give any reason why no more plate races?

Then throw course cautions. I know this is usually a road course practice, but the biggest race of the year being stopped as the cars head into 3/4 on the last lap is pathetic. NASCAR is at a point where is just can't happen.

I don't think Harvick/Junior could have passed Logano, but it shouldn't be up for debate.

I think your friend is mistaken.

Steve O'Donnell and others said that the reason the caution was thrown was because of the cars that hit the wall required safety personnel to get to them as fast as possible. Safety personnel cannot get on the track until the caution comes out.

I think NASCAR was being cautious because of the incident with Kyle the day before.

It is what it is and Logano won the race.
