I remember going to the Braves-Stros game (the one where Mac hit the game tying jack in the 9th and a walkoff in the 10th or 11th)

Bourn came up and my mom goes "Why is his walkup song "Born this way" by Lady GaGa?"

This thread will explode if Bourn legs out an infield single his first at bat.

Yea I think if he gets any hit and scores a run there will be a large amount of optimism coming

I think Jason Kubel would be an ideal RH bat for this club. Serious pop, understands being a role guy... just perfect really.

Olney suggested Carlos Quentin may get claimed and the Sox may let him go... so there's that.

Man Quentin off the bench would be f-ing ridiculous but I don't know that we can pull that one off.

Problem with Willingham is he doesn't hit lefties well.

i was gonna start a thread about this but i might as well start it in here.

could this bourn trade turn out like the mclouth trade?

big expections but then fell flat. i'll give bourn some time as well. mclouth had 26 homers and a gold glove the year before he came over.

i'll hang up and listen to your answers.

The major difference is that McLouth was erroneously thought of as a good defender and Bourn is legitimately one of the best CFs in baseball.

willingham is hitting lefties much better lately, he crushed 2 homers a couple days ago against two legit lefty pitchers and overall he's batting better than ever. he's hit .308 in july and .350 the last 7 days.. and .286 since the all star break.

Willingham would be an awesome bench bat.
