So what do you think adding 20 pounds of muscle will do for Uggs? He's already a power hitter. He already had a career high in HR last year. Do you think that will push his HR total up to 50+?

If it makes his already awful fielding even worse, he's likely going to be giving back some of the runs he produces, IMO.

You can be the Ministry, I'll be the Nation of Domination.

Who gets Ron Simmons, though?

These reports of players adding 20 pounds of muscle coming into spring training, or dropping 20 pounds and getting more lean coming into spring training are mostly bogus and reaches. It happens every year, yet the players don't perform much different and usually don't look much different. There are exceptions of course, like the Panda.

Do you not believe that if his already limited ranges worsens that more groundballs will get through, thus more hits will be allowed, thus more runs could be scored by the opposing teams?

Assuming he even has put on 20 lbs of muscle, to further assume that increased muscle mass will lead to less mobility is about the dumbest thing I've ever read. Plenty of athletes in all sports that add lean muscle have become quicker and more explosive. You act like he's Jay Cutler or Ronnie Coleman (bodybuilders) out there. He's not.

Do I think the guy has the best range? No, of course not. But I also saw him make him some good plays in the hole last year.

I don't think his range is going to worsen is my point.

You sure you want The Rock? You'll have him for a few months and he'll go film movies the rest of the time...

That's your example you use as a defense for increased muscle always = decreased mobility? I hope you are kidding but afraid that you may be serious.

Lulz, educate me.

Show me how the former Gold Glove OF and 40/40 threat who lost all speed and range in the OF increased his mobility with all that increased muscle.

Probably more like...

Bourn
Heyward
Chipper
Uggla
McCann
Freddie
Prado
Pastornicky
