He will get a lot of work in this season. 162 post-victory interviews will really hone your skills.

Am I the only one who failed to realize until now that D-Lowe led the Majors in losses last year?

@Braves: Braves have acquired third baseman Juan Francisco from the Reds in exchange for right-handed minor-league pitcher J.J. Hoover.

Trying to understand this deal.

I guess he is going to play 3B while Chipper is out? Idk. Doesn't make much sense to me.

The power is nice, but the guy doesn't have plate discipline and seems to play poor defense.

Hoover had potential to be a great bullpen arm.

Hmmm. Strange deal.

Looks like it's going to be a Diaz/Francisco platoon, with Prado at 3rd and Diaz in LF vs. LHP and Francisco at 3rd and Prado in LF vs. RHP.

Reds traded Francisco because he's out of options, and the Reds don't have room for him on the 25 man roster.

I wonder what the Braves do when Chipper comes back.

Put him in AAA for a week until Chipper gets hurt again

He's out of options. He can't be sent down unless he clears waivers, which he probably wont do.

I imagine he will just switch to a primary pinch hitter and spot starter for when Chipper needs a rest.

Looks like the 25 man roster will now be:

Mac
Ross

Freeman
Uggla
Pastornicky
Chipper (this spot could now be OF or INF, probably Durango IMO)
Jack Wilson
Francisco

Prado
Bourn
Heyward
Diaz
Hinske

Hanson
Jurrjens
Beachy
Minor
Delgado (Hudson)

Kimbrel
Venters
O'Flaherty
Medlen
Martinez
Hernandez
Flande

Here's Francisco's 502-foot home run last year: LINK

I will like having a power bat like that coming off the bench late in games. That's a potential game changer. Much better than someone like Diaz who you are just hoping for a walk or a single.
