The ATL Thread 7/26: Swanson optioned to Gwinnett

Probably shouldn't have even made the west coast road trip after Snit basically said he was benched, also kind of weird that he gets sent down right after he actually has a multi-hit game. He definitely needs the everyday reps though, hopefully he gets back on track.

Needs to spend about 58-59 days off the 25 man roster for the Braves to gain another year of control. That doesn't look possible unless he isn't recalled at all.

This has not been handled well at all.

I like Camargo but he is clearly playing at an unsustainable level. This is the danger of going with a manager on a one year deal.

Casual Braves fans love Snitker because the team is happy and has played over their heads under him but I seriously hope he isn't back next year. He constantly mismanages the bullpen (somehow Jim Johnson is still closing), refuses to make late inning substitutions for Kemp (even though this would help defense and give Kemp the rest he needs), and has miserably mishandled the Swanson/Camargo situation. Get us another manager who makes players feel warm and fuzzy inside who actually knows what the hell he is doing.

First MLB start will be against the Dodgers...good luck with that, kid.

Snitker should be fired for falling for Camargo's initial hot streak (shocker he's coming back down to earth) and benching Dansby. No telling what he's done to Dansby's confidence. Unacceptable after how much the team pimped him to the fan base this offseason.

I've gone from being pretty indifferent on Snit getting the job to there being a 73% chance I'll porn-bomb every board if he gets an extension.

I have a hard time believing Snit was the only person making the calls with Dansby's playing time.

Then the entire FO should be fired for jeopardizing our future SS's chances for an unsustainable hot streak from a future utility player. This entire situation and many other of their choices (Acuna's rapid promotion) are very concerning and unnecessary. The Braves aren't winning shite this year or next year. They should be patient and let the talent they signed/drafted/traded for develop organically and they refuse to do that.

No. It is very typical for a player to have 2-3 call ups before they make it. Aaron Judge was terrible last year. Hell, Mickie Mantle almost quit.
