MLB.com says the game is delayed but doesn't say why. Anyone know what's going on ?

We are inducting Beltre into the team hall of fame.

Orioles had a 30 minute delay for their Hall of Fame ceremony last week. It seems like a common theme with these losing teams. More people are probably at the ballpark to watch the HOF ceremony and the game is pretty much secondary.

Thanks. Unbelievable, can't believe that was such a guarded secret they couldn't share.

It has been advertised a lot that this is happening. The voice of the stadium is also being inducted, Chuck Morgan.

Also, to the other poster, Adrian Beltre is a first ballot hall of famer and played the game the correct way. He should be recognized, and no, the attendance is not an issue for us.

We have one of the highest average attendances in the league in this year and the stadium is almost full 90% of the time.

Well I figured it was locally, and thats why I came here because I figured someone would know. But all my searches, I couldn't find a thing about it and it was driving me nuts. By the way Beltre absolutely deserves recognigtion - congrats to him.

You’re right

And that’s a big problem for those that want to see the Rangers get better

We are getting better.

Will have four-five prospects in the top 100 at the next update.

They team is building the farm and they are doing so effectively. Fangraphs has us ranked as the deepest farm in the league. Our ranking is because at the moment we have no elite guys waiting to come up. We are 3-4 years out of being competitive.

We are still a ways away from building our farm. Fangraphs having us with the “deepest farm” I think is a little too much positivity. Although the farm has already started to get much better, and trend upward and should keep getting better. The Rangers need to actually show that they are willing to compete. Spend money in free agency. There are numerous big time free agents including some with local ties, Story at Irving MacArthur, Syndergard at Mansfield. It always baffles me, it’s not like they don’t have money. The farm system started the year off not that great, but I would say the Rangers now have a top 12-13 farm system, so definitely trending back in the right direction on that front. I really think they need to try and spend money in free agency like they haven’t really been willing to do. So it’s no secret the farm is getting better, and the team has at least made some moves this year to start trending in the right direction again, but until Chris Woodward is gone I think there are still numerous problems to be dealt with.

There is zero reason to invest in free agents at the moment.

The front office has paid free agents big previously and it hasn’t worked out (Choo). They also got Fielder, a guy who was never hurt, who immediately got a career ending injury.

We offered Rendon a shite ton when he was a free agent. You are saying you would have preferred that signing happening, instead give the front office credit for not upping their offer for zero return.

You have to have at least some name recognition on the team. I went to my first game last night and I’ve literally heard of zero of the Rangers roster.

Not every player is going to work out, but you can’t let it keep from trying to sign someone. I’ve lived here five years and every player I’ve actually heard of is gone with no star power to replace them.
