I'm such a snob....a purest even. I love me some cash games. I might try to hit up a few MTTs just the $0.60 ones. I'm staying away from SNGs...they are evil on the merge network! EVIL I TELL YOU!

I am in a real frick this game mode right now. Going to take a few weeks off, then go back at it. Wnet to the shoe, and it seemed like every read I made was wrong. Just terrible.

Fiddy
I had the same thing happen to me. I had that bad run at Harrah's where I dropped a couple of grand. Everything just felt wrong. Every read was wrong. Every move I made was either outright wrong or not respected. My last hand of that week I preflop raised AQ and pot bet every street with him just calling. The third club comes on the river. He raises me all in. I make a crying call with the last of my chips. He turns over 47C. He didn't even have a fricking pair on the board. No chance at a straight. He was chasing a backdoor straight from the flop! At that point I just said frick it and went back to the hotel.
I really took about a month to a month and a half off. I half arse read a few books, watched HSP and the Big Game but I stayed away from 2+2. Today was my first day back playing for cash. I doubled up baby. I'm playing better than I was. Things are much clearer and I've really started to plan my hands around commitment much better than I was.
Anyway, taking some time off is good. Just wait until the bug hits you again.

if theres one thing i know it's to be successful at poker taking time off is as important as anything you'll ever learn about the game.

Can you torrent the big game?
Posted on 8/2/11 at 11:31 am to Acreboy
You can, but why bother when you can just watch it for free on pokerstars.tv. Now I did torrent all the HSPs and burned them to DVD.
Haha watching episode 2. Love how Phil is all, "Gee golly dang it" When he's winning. When he loses, here comes the,"Motherfricker goddammit piece of shite. Every fricking time!"
Cannon is playing like Hellmuth or he's scared money. That TT hand was just bad.

Oh my... that was fricking terrible

Hellmuth never rebuys. He's a puss in cash games. I've never seen him rebuy on the Big Game or HSP. How can you not rebuy when a passive fish like the loose cannon is on your left? He should have rebought right after he bluffed the cannon off that pot.
Sometimes I wonder about Hellmuth's REAL finances. His tournament buy ins are always covered. He hasn't paid to play a tournament in over a decade, but cash games are a different animal. I wonder if he really has enough bullets to play a high stakes cash game.
I mean someone like Doyle, Barry, or Durrr has a bankroll in the millions that is dedicated to playing high stakes cash. Phil has been on a freeroll for years. I just don't think he has the liquidity or the bankroll to rebuy like the big boys do.
