I would have liked to see him name the guy...especially if the guy is dead. Maybe others would come forward.

So that's where the sugar came from. And now you know...the rest of the story.
Also.......SCOREBOARD. The coach's technique may have been unorthodox, but you can't argue with the results.

same coach, said to be in his late 40s, explained how much a gold medal at the 1976 Olympics would mean to his future.
Leonard was flattered, filled with hope, as any young athlete would be. But he writes: “Before I knew it, he had unzipped my pants and put his hand, then mouth, on an area that has haunted me for life. I didn’t scream.
I would think a 20 year old Sugar Ray would have beat the crap out of a man in his late 40s.

Is he claiming it was Sarge? If it is, that's bs since he can't defend himself against charges. And if he's claiming it's the other corner guy, he died 30 years ago when the whole team died in the crash in Poland.
Either way Sugar is seeking attention and not very trustworthy IMO.

He liked it. 20 year olds do not allow some dude to go there unless he liked it. What has haunted him is his hiding his gayness.

Just because someone can not defend themselves against accusations made against them does not mean the accusation is false. He wrote a book...it is not a court of law.
How is Sugar Ray not trustworthy and seeking attention?
Did you see the other comments in this thread? Is that the kind of attention he is looking for? I am pretty sure he could have left that out of the book and it still sell as well.

"Angelo Dundee, who achieved fame as Muhammad Ali’s trainer and later became the head man in Leonard’s corner,"
