re: Soccer is so boring

Like others, I became interested in soccer with my children. It is a great sport for children because it scales readily.

That said, true soccer fans appreciate the buildup of an attack, the footwork, the passing, the tackles, and the goalkeeping. Scoring means something in soccer.

Once you get into soccer mode, it is hard to watch baseball and football-- too much down time. Add the officiating of football and the tv timeouts and I'm looking for a quick exit. The problem with basketball is the opposite-- too frantic.

Soccer, like many things, is an acquired taste.
