Seriously though, is 6 Umpires really necessary/advantageous in the Playoffs??

IMO, A factor in this STL/ATL call is that the LF Ump is not really use to being a LF Umpire. Which brings up the question now the instant replay is part of MLB are outfield umpires even necessary??

Also since these umpires really have zero regular season practice at being an "LF/RF" umpire could the fact that they are there actually be a detriment more than an aide? More of something isn't necessarily better if they aren't really skilled at the specific task.
