Barkley is incredibly overrated as a pro prospect. His potential is basically already maxed out

This. To SC fans he hasn't really improved that much since his first day starting as a true freshman...he's that guy in high school who is so much better than everyone else but he's not getting to the next level skill-wise. He's a better version of Ron Powlus...He's what we call a "peak to sooner" - late bloomers are the stars at QB in the NFL.

Oh, and he still can barely throw the deep ball despite having wide open Lee and Woods.

First of all, no way he'll be able to take the beating of a pro QB. He has bones made of glass.

He's a better Omar Jacobs

Barkley has greatly improved trough out this year alone.

Guy has all the tools to be a very good, not elite, NFL QB for years

Mostly because Marqise Lee was ungaurdable

His tools are nowhere near where Sanchez's were. He simply has two of the best receivers to ever play at USC

Who do you think Barkley can compare to in the NFL?

• I don't think he has Staffords, Rodgers, or Cutlers arm.
• I don't see him making any plays outside the pocket or much movement within the pocket.
• He's not a tall or a physically imposing figure.

I think he's Mark Sanchez without the athleticism. Maybe Matt Hasselbeck. perhaps he's coached up to the max and he's Jimmy Clausen.

RGIII and Luck can make all the throws, under pressure, rolling left or right, 3/4 arm angle, sidearm, down the field and on the mark.

I think RGIII is an Aaron Rodgers clone. Similar build, down field passing, similar in the way they slide and throw from weird angles, and great feet. People like to compare RGIII to Vick but Vick was quicker/more explose and not as good a thrower.

Yeah, we know you think that but you haven't given us a reason outside of that he's kind of thin? He's not Tyrod Taylor, he can throw the ball. You have to get over the black guy w/ dreads mental block.

He's a thrower supreme.

RGIII is very accurate, throws the best deep ball in the draft, extremely intelligent, and has world class speed.

This. Not to mention extremely accurate WHILE on the run.

RGIII is the most over rated prospect in terms of NFL potential in recent memory. He won't be a good pro QB.

RG3 is exactly what this team needs, an electric player that the fans would love (PG County will be ALL OVER his nuts). He's smart athletic and has the attitude the team is trying to develop. We might want a caretaker QB so we don't have to throw him to the wolves, but Ponder, Newton and Dalton are doing ok. Get him in the first, then get some O line depth and roll players later. Dan can use free agency to pick up a possession wide out and some DB depth which is going to be our most glarring hole. Danny gave Shanahan 5 years to fix this mess, we are in year two. He doesn't need to be the NFC champs next year, but if we are in the playoff hunt Week 15, thats a good sign.

thats nice, but in the pros, i want Barkley. Bigger body, already plays in a pro style system. Throws a pretty deep ball as well, and is very accurate.

RG is listed at 6'2" 220
MB is listed at 6'3" 220

Bout the same size, RG has serious wheels though and has done some amazing things with significantly less talent around him

I would throw him in there right away. Newton, Ponder, and Dalton have all looked comfortable in the passing game, no reason to think RGIII wouldn't. He's been making plays against the big boys in the big 12 for years.
