Considering it is Oregon we're talking about, they're all probably stoned out of their minds. I doubt it'll be as exciting as the Tennessee riots. It'll probably be more like an "Occupy Chip Kelly's House" type demonstration.

Warning- this post is long...(but explains everything)
Most of you people have no freaking clue! And out East I am sure most think like this guy.
Out West However, all the UO Football games are on TV, so not as ignorant about Chip Kelly and UO.
FYI to the retards, we were the joke of the PAC-10 until 1994, going to the Rose Bowl that year and then Phil Knight asked the then coach after- how do we reach the level of a great team. Phil Knight was told by our last coach, Mike Bellotti, that we needed a indoor practice field and then needed to improve the locker room and other recruits hung out to make it look nice to draw in top recruits. Phil knight went on a building fetish....making UO having the nicest CFB facilities(in most peoples eyes that have compared all there is out there)and such.
The winning just went up and up.
Coach Rich Brooks made us a good team, after being a PAC-10 joke for most of our CFB history and in 1994, he took us to a Rose Bowl. He left right away, went NFL to the Rams. His OC, Mike Bellotti, became our head coach. And during him, we went ended up being a good solid B level team on average. UO's CFB coaching staff have all been there for tons of years on average. We have had probably the least turn over on average then any other CFB program in the last 20 years or so.
However, UO's OC's under Mike Bellotti would seem to leave for head coaching jobs, like Cal's HC. And well BSU's HC came from UO too.
Anyways, Mike Bellotti needed a new OC. He hired Chip kelly. CK was UO's OC for 2 years and immediately we offense took off through the moon under the brains of CK. Mike Bellotti then left as HC to become AD and Kelly was made Head Coach.
Under Chip Kelly he only has been HC for 3 years(but at UO in total for 5, as said as 2 years OC). And in those 3 years Chip was the head boss, he took UO to 1 Rose bowl, 1 Natty, and this year another Rose Bowl. Also, UO dominated it's Conference only losing 2 Conference games in that stretch(3 years ago to Stanford and this year to USC- both in super close tight games).
Under CK, UO has had the Nations Top Offense most times, was named Coach of the year, Nationally, and well make UO Football team Nationally famous.
Chip Kelly is a straight shooter as he is a Upper East Coast guy. Most programs have guys that lie to their fans or pump fake sunshine all the time. CK is the opposite.
Basically CK's only flaw is that he can be very rude to the media who ask him stupid questions(or defending his players) and also he can come across as semi arrogant sometimes. (but we UO fans love it!)
Despite the Dee South's viewpoint that only if a program wins the Natty is a team considered good, CK has take UO to a A level, being ranked in the top 5 often and #1 some of the time as well.
To UO fans he is considered a genius and probably the most revered person in our State by a Country mile(unless you are OSU fans). To the other West Coast fans he is feared. Basically to us he is near as perfect coach as one can be. CK and Phil Knight could not be more highly respected to us.
What that poster said that I quoted is a pathetic joke.
I have 2 theories on this matter.
A)CK is not going anywhere. Agents just love to pump this stuff- get offers built- so agents can demand more money from school so they don't leave.
B)If true that he ends up leaving, that is not good. That probably means UO head people like Phil Knight and such and CK got tipped off that UO is getting nasty sanctions to come from NCAA. I read in the paper about a year ago where Phil Knight said if the worst offenses about this NCAA prove true- that he would be very ticked with Chip kelly. From that article it seemed as if PK would be ticked much if such proved CK was not clean. (translation- I would imagine from that- that PK would ask CK to find another job. PH is our virtual owner. What he says goes.)
If riots happened, it would not be near what Tenn experienced as CK never lied to us. Kiffen was a lying weasel. And Tenn had been having problems with keeping coaches around and Kiffen had to lie much to end up there. CK never lied to UO fans. Thus such, "riots" would be apples to oranges. At UO fans would just be sad that our great brain and hero and much respected one is leaving, just going to his home to scream out the support for him and try to talk him into staying.
Take this post for whatever wish, I care not. But this is one freaking sad day if Chip Kelly leaves us. I do not think we would ever be as good. Getting BSU's Head coach, a former UO coach would be nice, but he runs a offense that is not like CK but only just the same type that we ran BEFORE CK.

lol, so sanction aside, you don't think CK would simply leave b/c it's a much better job, in a much better place to live? CK should take the Bucs' job no matter what, even if he was told the program is in the clear.

If Oregon is indeed a very good program, it can attract a very good HC and sustain it's winning ways. A coach leaving should never be that big of a deal. Particularly one who has only been there a few years.

To answer your question, I just do not see CK leaving except for 2 reasons. A)He was pressured to leave by Phil Knight such as if CK caused much harm to UO with something and hurt our image.
B)If CK like won several Natty's in a row, then Ya, he might get bored and want to try out his out of the box new methods in the NFL, just as a scientist would want to run lab tests. He is such a brain, but I think he would get bored with UO if he had too much repeated success such as I noted.
2 points to consider in me answering this way is because A)CK stayed at his old Alum school for a long time(NH). They are D-2. Small no name school, but the staff there had low turn-over and he loved his job there. He really loves coaching and working with other coaches and hates staff turnover. B)He moved his elderly parents from there to back here in Oregon to take care of them. Plus I believe he had a custom house built for him here. Both homes in such ways say a lot about him desiring to stay. Plus in his last contract he has a extreme large buyout, to which he agreed to, which would make it hard for anyone to want to grab him.
One thing about him however is for his last contract renewal and also by media comments in Last years Natty- Him joking saying he really wanted a percent of the $ UO made last year on road up to Natty. And such other things has me thinking that at times he can be a little greedy and strikes me as the type would allow his agent to go fishing for deals only for the purpose to have people scrambling to offer up more money for him to stay.
Take what I say however so, but I just do not think Kelly leaves anytime soon. I think he will be at UO for a long time. And I would be totally blown away shocked if such is not true. I think the CFB and NFL offers will come and come, which to me is no big deal. And I would not be surprised if he milks, milks, milks those offers all the way to the bank.

Sorry about that. I guess people could just skip over it and not make a big deal about it if they didn't want to read it. But thanks for the suggestion!

You just do not know things well buddy, is all. Oregon does not produce many CFB players. UO as a school is nothing super special. We do have the best sports facilities however. But you see, Oregon always gets 2 and 3 star recruits. Chip Kelly, the brain, turned a whole team full of 2 star's(on average maybe) into a elite program. Now you get it? And yes, because of some great success recruiting has gone up a little. Most teams win because of recruiting hotbeds. We win because we have a brain for a head coach. Those like him are SUPER rare to find!

University of Oregon football coach Chip Kelly has reached an agreement to become the head coach of NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a highly placed UO athletic department source told The Register-Guard.
“It’s done,” the source said Sunday night.
A deal has not been announced by Tampa Bay, and a UO athletic department spokesman said Sunday night that Kelly’s status with the UO had not officially changed.
quote:
One member of the team told The Register-Guard the players have been left “in the dark” about Kelly’s intentions. Players were instructed Sunday night to attend the team’s scheduled conditioning workouts today, according to a source.
Oregon’s assistant coaches had not been informed about Kelly’s situation either, according to a source.
Rumors circulated throughout Sunday that Kelly had been negotiating with the Bucs.
quote:
KGW-TV in Portland reported Sunday evening that a deal was “close.” The Tampa Bay Times then reported that Kelly had a “secret meeting” early last week with Bucs general manager Mark Dominik and members of the Glazer family, which owns the team. The Times reported that the Bucs had interviewed eight other candidates for their head-coaching job.

Bro, thanks so much for posting that link. I have not read it yet, but I read your copy and past's of it. I was out all day and just got home a little while ago. Before I made it home, was in a 7-11 and a guy said kelly was leaving. I flipped out, sped home to actually COME ON HERE FIRST for the news, lol. TD always has breaking news, sometimes much faster then other places.
Anyways, that paper you quoted from, they know UO very well and have a very good Rep. If they said it, it probably is true, imo.
However, I am not believing it until I hear my coach announce it. Right now, I am in total shock of all this unfolding and freaking scared to death!

Brah, we'll be fine.
Thanks for the encouragement, but I don't think we will. I think with any incredible awesome coach we maybe stay at a B average level. I myself put Kelly up there with Saban as far as how great he is. I think those 2 are the best CFB coaches out there, but one knows Offense and one knows Defense.
If Bama lost Saban you think they would be at the same level? Not a chance in hell!
Bro, you should know better then anyone, our Offense litterally revolves around Chip Kelly's brain. Look at our team. How many from Offense go to the NFL? Not many. We get 2 and 3 star guys with one or two 4 star ones that are small but speedy. CK mixes the whole cooking dish, and out comes BCS games. There is just simply not a innovator or as good a Offense Coach out there in all of CFB, imo. NO the hell not we would be just fine. After I spend some times reading on some places, I think I am myself going to drive to his house and see if I can join in with those going there to beg like dogs that he might change his mind(if true)...

The best Oregon place to check for news is our main blog, Addicted to Quack(see below at link). I am in total shock, but it looks like my worst fear may be ending up true.

The uptempo "Quack Attack" offense Chip Kelly has masterminded at the college level has run him straight to the NFL. Two sources with direct knowledge of the talks told CBSSports.com that the Oregon head coach has agreed in principle to take the same position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is currently finalizing details of a multi-year contract, a stunning and swift move that has shaken up the landscape in the Pac-12 and the NFL. The Register-Guard first reported the news Sunday night.
News of the departure first surfaced during the middle of Sunday's NFC Championship Game with a report from Portland TV station KGW sports reporter Michael Berk. Tampa Bay fired head coach Raheem Morris in January after 10 straight losses to cap a 17-31 mark over three seasons. Kelly is expected to be officially named as the organization's new coach as soon as the Glazier family signs off on details of the contract, which could come as soon as Monday morning.

I know a lot of UO alums, and talk to them quite a bit about Oregon football. You throw enough money at a quality coach, you will have a quality coach.

(I am still not giving up hope that my beloved Coach is not leaving my team. I do not think I could respect any other coach on the planet more that I did for CK. And I will not fully believe rumors or any reports until I hear my own coach- out of his own mouth- say so!
I am hunting down all media/reading everything I can get my hands on to find out the truth. Chip kelly is NOT one to lie, and he did tell recruits just recently that he was going to be at Oregon for a long time and also he did not think Sanctions would be anything hard, if at all. I know they all say those things, but not Chip. He is one straight shooter and truth teller if you ever knew one!!!! I AM NOT GIVING UP HOPE!!!
