Yes, John Fabre is the man!

I just see Mistretta as a coach that is a good coach but not great. I do not see him as someone that could put the program above the rest. He does not have that "it" factor.

What if I did not play for Mistretta...

and Urban Meyer next coach at RHS

Dunham better be prepared to open their checkbooks and get ready to pay tution for "recurited" football players from public middle schools...
Will this hurt Parkview's recruiting?

Neither...

Dunham has been doing some good work in that area already.

Recruiting is such an ugly word in High School sports.

Its really over-rated.

Families should be allowed options. What's wrong with promoting your program?

Bro catholic schools will always give underprivileged kids a chance... Sometimes they are also a 6'7 small forward with a killer jumpshot

its one thing to promote your program and another to give free ride. I see nothing wrong with recruiting for your school, but you are opening pandoras box when $$$ gets involved.

more parents of kids already at schools "recruit" than the schools actually do..

as for the free rides - way too much gray area - I know what got one school in trouble...

rule at the time x number of kids could be on free tuition or significant tuition assistance as long as it was not greater than the amount of kids NOT playing sports getting same benefit.....

principal knew number coaches did not - principal threw coaches under the bus.

If a school has a endowment and give financial aid to athletes and non athletes based on econmic need.....you don't need to be splitting atoms to figure out how easy it is to pull off.

Mistretta has put it above the rest, Didn't he win a state title, to me that is above the rest. Also a few semifinal runs. Not bad for an "average coach"

Dunham from what I hear is ready to make the step to become a power in 2A.

That's what they said about 4A a few years back when JC was playing up.

Redemptorist put together one of the best recruiting classes in the BR area history and physically man-handled JC.

The same can be done at Dunham or U-High.

U-high has been working quietly behind the scenes on some nice transfers.

He signed the contract to coach at Dunham BEFORE he even announced he was leaving RHS.

Woodlawn is probably the best public school in BATON ROUGE. That doesn't say a whole lot.

In the city limits, there are no public schools worth going to. (IN MY OPINION)

However, Central,Zachary,Dutchtown,St Amant and EA are all relatively close to Baton Rouge.
