Recycled ProV1's

Are they worth it? Do they compress about the same or is it not worth it? The price for a dozen new is around 50 and recycled is 20 so the price is pretty appealing

beaverpro, I think, dropped some knowledge about how the water fricks them up.
I don't know for sure, but remember if you aren't very good you shouldn't even be using ProV1's they will make your slice even worse.

I used to worry a lot about what ball I play, now I know as long as its consistent it's great.
I've been playing the Pinnacle Gold balls which are supposed to suck; an my last 3 rounds have been in the 70's

I'd choose used over recycled/refurbished/resurfaced
I don't notice that much difference between new and used but I'm not a scratch golfer either

In my experience they play just fine. my problem with them is that i cut them really easily. but play wise they were fine but like i said i cut the balls up pretty easily

I understand the tour spin argument, however my slice is for the most part gone. I played with a couple pro v1s I was giving and with my wedge shots I was able to hit down on the ball and get it to either stop or spin back a little on the greens. It's nice to know how the ball will react. I was wondering if I could get basically the same result with the recycled balls.

they spin more so if you slice it naturally they will slice harder/more

I play ProV1x because they react the way I want to on the green. I hit the ball pretty straight my bad swing is a bad slice. I dont think using a ProV makes my slice ball any worse personally but it could
but playing those balls arent bad especially for the price. I just happen to work for a golf tour that i get free new balls so i dont use them anymore but i did and they were fine. i just had to take all my cut balls and make them practice balls after i played with them for a couple holes ( maybe like 9) I dont lose many balls so it could be from that but it doesnt happen with the new balls

I understand what you are saying.
There are other balls out there that spin comparable to the Pro V1's. I would rather a box of new balls instead of used Pro V's but that is just me.
Try out some other balls, bridgestone the Nike Vapors etc and see if you can get that same feel. If not then buy them used.

Yea I worded that poorly. I was saying I don't know if the used balls are worth it or not. I know about the slice/spin problem.

okay i just didnt read it properly. i wasnt calling you out just more agreeing with you.
I personally think they are worth it especially if you are a player who is good but hits wild shots here and there. they get the quality balls cheap since they probably wont be holding on to them for that long
like for me I have played the same ProV1x ball for the last 27 holes so it doesnt bother me to pay that for a dozen balls ( even though i get them for free now)

My goals are always play the same ball the whole round, no doubles and no three putts.
Guess how many times that actually happens haha.
I have been playing absurdly hard courses recently so it has been a bit hard on my game.

thats awesome.
dont know the Kiawah courses personally but know they are beautiful. one of my dads playing partners just got back from there recently said it was awesome..
I played at harbor town a couple years ago and was great. My dad got ryder cup tickets this year so him and his buddies are going up a week early and playing whistling straights and black wolf run before. Im so jealous

Did you do a day trip to Grand Bear or were you already out there?
And yea dude I am a lucky mothefricker, my dad is just obsessed with golf. He played college and just has always had a passion for it, more than I will probably ever have.
His friends and him are literally teaming up and becoming members at the nicest clubs so they can just jet around and plan golf trips to Burning Tree, Honors course and such. They won't admit it, but my mom and I know what he is doing.
I reap the benefits occasionally.
He actually just got back from Bandon Dunes which is public and LOVED it. He would not stop talking about it. I have to try and get up there one day, Oregon is just so fricking far.
