I don’t think he would have gotten paid regardless. All the contenders were set at SS. I think he would have preferred Texas over going to another team that wouldn’t compete.

Could be but not if he has the type of season he may be launching into now back then. I think the guy is a difference maker when healthy.

Agreed. His injury last year was his first ever trip to the DL. Definitely affected him a bit.
