Then you need to transport back about 30 years. The fashionable stallions at the yearling and 2 year old sales are ruining the breed

They bring big money but have very short and very carefully held together careers. Then they go on to create the next generation of unsound horses.

You know the race is 1 3/16, right? That’s still longer than most horses run. The last win he had before the derby was 1 1/6.

Please don’t say things with such confidence that make you sound so ignorant.

“Shorter track”

Speaking of Delaware park things, I’m excited for the Arabian stakes on Saturday. I’m sad they don’t run there anymore.

I have zero interest in this race. Hope it changes come Saturday.

But how do you feel about the weighted pads (and caustic agents and chains) they are using on sandman and the fact that the Preakness is a sprint so that’s why sovereignty is skipping?

... the reason I became interested was for the fact of his nicking. He was a grandson of Northern Dancer, to which I am a big fan. Many a solid winner, he produced. Also the farm was not far from my place near Fair Hill. A lot of Preakness people tune up at Fair Hill.
It gets in your blood

Its much to do about nothing. Just like the stupid whip rules with a stick that was designed to do no harm. The game is going into the toilet, because HISA is in cahoots with PETA.

Fair hill is horse Heaven. I love seeing them gallop out on the hills.

I don’t hate the Preakness. It’s not high on my list of races to go to, but maybe that will change after the renovation. If the state doesn’t frick it up…

The black eyed Susan blanket is prettier than the derby roses and second only to the oaks lillies in my book.

... I had the farm right on the edge of Fair Hill going into Rising Sun ... it was beautimus to say the least

My favorite was when the 3 Day event came into town , all the future Olympians would be there

What a show

Thank you for the daily racing forms.

I hit a $4 exacta on the derby for $96 and change. The problem was I had $80 in bets boxing them with 3 other horses. (Sandman, Luxor Cafe & American Promise)

A win is a win though.

I'm leaning towards key boxing Journalism this time with Sandman and I have to make a choice for my other horse between River Thames and Clever Again. Bump it up to $20 exactas (4 bets since I'm key boxing Journalism and not boxing all) for $80 again. If the 2 lowest odds hit, it'll still pay around $120 I think.

Or any other horse hits 1st or 2nd and blows my whole bet up.
