Skenes is 3-1, and the Pirates have scored 35 runs over his 5 starts. This was the first time they lost a lead this season in which Skenes started; however, he couldn't have earned a win anyway.

I know LSU fans view all starts for Skenes through a very narrow and biased lens. The Pirates have more good young talent on their roster and in their organization as anyone. The future looks bright, those wanting him to leave:
No. 1 - the Pirates are not trading him before his rookie contract ends in 3 more years.
No. 2 - the Pirates are trending upward and their future looks pretty bright IMHO. And I think he probably sees the same thing.
