The replay showed multiple Ducks checking the play call on their wrist list. The CB was doing that when the ball was snapped and the WR ran right by him.

That is stuff good coaches do all the time in college.
I think Bama did it to LSU in 2019 right on a Smith TD? They waited until an LSU DB looked at the coaches before the snap then snapped it
