Football is the biggest team sport so there will never be a true answer to these debates

Speaking of 11-5, how have the Colts done since then?
Pretty good after the #1 no brainer draft pick??
I'm not arguing for either side here, just saying that's a stupid comment

What does that Matter? They got another great qb that has to carry the team too.
In 08, NE won 7 fewer games without Brady than they did in 07.
In 11, Ind won 8 fewer games without Peyton than they did in 10.
That's a whopping 1 game difference.

Except they were tied before today's game.
Thanks for making my argument. The only thing Brady has over Manning is playoff success yet they had the exact same qb rating in the playoffs before today. Well that settles it then. Manning is by far the better statistical qb and Brady just now became the better playoff qb. Thanks bro.

That's some rather interesting logic.

Patriots went from #1 in their division to being #1 in their division to 2nd. Colts went from 1st to dead last and in a worse division.

Which doesn't matter if you still don't make the playoffs, but okay.

Lol. No its common sense. Brady's only argument over Manning is playoff success, yet They had the same qb rating in the playoffs before today. Peyton has, by far, the better regular season and career qb rating. Brady's only go to stat was the playoffs and he just now became slightly better than Manning in the playoffs.

So when talking about a players value to a team the only thing that counts is playoffs or no playoffs?

It shows just how shitty Indy's talent was around Manning. They won 2 games the year he was gone. Pats won 11 when Brady went out.. Come the frick on bruh.

NE still had Cassel (a Pro Bowler). Ind had...Curtis Painter?

There are three types of lies in this world, as Mark Twain so eloquently pointed out to us all those years ago:
1. Lies
2. Damned lies
3. Statistics
Manning may be the statistically better QB but what are the variables associated with those statistics? Since Manning entered the league in 1998 he has been associated with pass-happy offenses while Brady, under Belichick, has been on far more balanced teams. Brady's offenses have also not been as good or as talented as Manning's either.
You can't just look at raw stats and determine one player is better than the other. I mean, you can....if you're lazy.
Brett Favre has thrown for more yardage then anyone else in the history of the NFL. How many times has he entered these GOAT discussions? Almost never.

Because he also has thrown more int than any qb ever.

And he's not "by far" anyhow, considering that Brady has a better td/int ratio (Rodgers is higher than both).

It was also virtually the same team that had gone 16-0 the previous year. That was a good team surrounding Brady in 2007, which is why you saw his stats increase to Manning levels that season. You surround Brady with talent and he can be just as prolific as Manning.

Imo, both are top 5 and have an argument for being the best. As does Montana, Elway, and Marino.
Posted on 2/2/15 at 12:04 am to JaxTiger10
But wait, I thought that Peyton was far better?

Brady has had the better running game, oline, defense, coach and special teams( venatieri). Stop acting like Brady was throwing to shite.

If I am a coach and I can pick between Brady or Manning to lead my team in the SB I am picking Brady 10 out of 10 times. I'll take a winner over a statistic guy every time.
