Playoff P dropping 5 points in a win or go home game is pretty atrocious but get a load of this:

Russel Westbrook took 43 shots.
The rest of the team combined took 50.

Russell Westbrook made 18/43 shots.
The rest of the team was 19/50.

It’s actually pretty head scratching they were able to keep it as close as they did.

Not really.

Utah lost their PG who is an assist leader. They missed a shite ton of free throws that kept it close and then they went derp at the end.

Both teams played like shite for the most part outside individual performances from Mitchell and Westbrook.

Ingles had a spurt himself.

Shot selection in the nba is better than it’s ever been. What are you talking about?

And three of them were air balls from downtown. That’s counting is usual 5 turnovers each game in the series. He maybe an alpha...just not a smart one.

chucking shots from 5 feet behind the 3 point line is your idea of good shot selection?

Yeah it was especially bad near the end when there was like 45 seconds on the clock. Down 3 and kept throwing up bad shots from downtown. It was like they didn’t even consider trying to get a high(er) percentage shot at all. Somehow got 5 offensive rebounds in 30 seconds, 4 of them off of 3PA’s. Bad hoops!

Well that would depend on personnel, but largely yes, it’s a good shot selection.

The expansion of three point range does two things: it more often gives a shooter a cleaner look at a three, and it spreads defenses out more so they can get easier dunk/layup opportunities.

Those are the two shots you want above all else in the NBA: shots at the rim and clean looks at three pointers.
