You know MVP is a league-wide award right?

Cavs have a better record.
I could be wrong, but I just don’t think Max Strus is as good as Joker or SGA.

You know voters use team record as a tie breaker for players considered to be the best in the league right?
Still waiting on that stat btw

You’re not understanding my question. Leave Jokic out of it, why is Shai the favorite for MVP?
Shai leads Jokic in several stats. You already know this.

Literally voter fatigue. There is no substantive reason otherwise.
Jokic is the better player
Jokic is far more valuable to his team.

PPG for one. Not sure why you’re being childish about it.

Without saying “voter fatigue,” can you think of any reason why Shai is the heavy favorite for MVP?

Jokic is the better player Jokic is far more valuable to his team.

PPG for one
So shai should win because he's average 3 more ppg? While averaging 4 less assists and 7 less boards?

You can't think of any reason why shai should. Removing the most obvious reason isn't some gotcha you think it is.

He got the closest stats to the best player in the league this year that voters are tired of giving the award to. Even though they still aren't near what jokic's are.

Shai is a much better defender as well.

There, did it for you.

And jokic a better rebounder
And shot creator
And more efficient
In a league where offense is far more valuable than defense arent those things more important than being a better defender?

There’s a correlation between offense and good defense that you’re not quite grasping here. It involves winning games by not letting the other team score more points.
And Shai leads the league in scoring anyway.

I believe you win games by scoring efficiently as possible too. Which jokic is better than shai.

Using a basic counting stat is not a good look for him.
If every team in the playoffs got to pick one player to lead their team into the playoffs off of another team, how many would pick Jokic over shai?

Denver is 11 games back.

Now we're using team stats lol
Thanks for proving my point.

Bro you literally asked why defense is important.

So you think shai is 11 wins better than jokic? Or is shai just on a much much better team?
Denver is 2nd in the league in offensive efficiency and that's with jokic being the primary everything man on offense, and no one is going to say that about shai on defense.

Ya’ll still arguing lol. No one us changing their mind, positions are locked in. SGA will be your 2025 MVP. But it is fun to see all the non NBA fans in here as experts sharing their wisdom.
As an aside, it was 5 years ago today we sports fans died for a while as all sports got shut down. At least now today we have something to argue about, which is a good thing.

Shai up to -5000 odds to win MVP. May end up being unanimous.
Where’s the guy that put money on Jokic to win after he stat padded in an overtime game?

I already said Jokic is the better all around player.
I take this back, Shai is having a better year and Jokic doesn’t play defense at all. His lack of effort on D has lost them a lot of games this year.
