Matteo meltown. Announcers blaming the shadows but Alcaraz isn't having any issues. Going to a 5th here soon.

Lets go. Big finish to that set after missing two easy forehands.

Kyrgios and Kokkanakis take the 1st set in dubs against Pavic and Mektic.

I might tune into that cuz it could be fun once Sebi bows out here.

Also, I might have spoken too soon…

Yeah I've been thinking that for about an hour now and he keeps hanging in.

Unfortunately even if he wins this is just too much tennis to keep going.

Morning crowd will love that result. So fricked that her reward is a match with Barty.

Damn we might need all hands on deck here to make sure Rafa doesn’t steal a trophy and try to sneak past Novak because of bullshite covid rules.

Are we sure Kecmanovic wouldn't have beaten Djokovic anyway? That's what many people are saying.

If he gets through KK, Karatsev, Zverev, the Hammer/Monf, and Medvedev, that's not a complete farce.

Always nice to wake up to a Wokesaka loss.

It's not, but he had about a 1% chance of winning this tournament if Djokovic was in the draw. Nadal hasn't won a single set against him on a hard court in like ten fricking years. Djokovic would have had to lose before the semis, which seems pretty unlikely here.

Two solid points. Novak being in the draw would have definitely crushed his chances, but if he runs through all those dudes listed it's arguably way more impressive than a lot of his RG cakewalks.

ETA: I thought that thread about automated umpires was about tennis for a second lol. That would have been 4 tennis-related threads on the MSB main page at once, surely a record.

ETA2: Karatsev is playing like arse for the 3rd straight round. Guess he wore himself out winning Sydney.
