Crosby and dupuis both blocked that shot...whens the last time you saw Ovie do that?

That was just plain classy of Kunitz

Yep, he could've easily taken the shot for himself. Good start to the series. I'm just wondering how long Stall will be out. They basically only have a day and a half before they're playing again so I'm not too optimistic re: his availability for Game 2. But Markov doesn't figure to be back that soon either.

It could be worse. Of course, those can be a serious nuisance depending on the severity. My main concern is for the rest of the playoffs; not just the next game or two. I think they have enough to get by without him for a few games, but obviously would prefer if they didn't have to do so. Crosby, Malkin, and Gonchar are probably the only skaters more important to the team's overall success IMO.

Stall has yet to miss a game (regular season or playoffs) in his career so if he misses Sunday, you know it has to really be bothering him.
I think the Flyers take the series, but the length will depend on how well Boucher plays. He was excellent against NJ. I like them to win game 1, but will be very interested to see what kind of effect Savard has. And also what kind of effect all of that time off has on the Flyers. You almost have to give Boston a game or two just based on how well Rask has played. And although they struggled mightily at home during the regular season, they played well there against Buffalo.

My lady friend is not happy i'm setting my saturday night up drunk and around the Hawks Canucks game.
The blackhawks have the best goal scoring song in the nhl imho.

1st Rask is ex-leaf; which means he's due for a shitting of the bed...
2nd Savard is one of the most complete players I have ever had the priviledge of watching(He played fr the Oshawa Generals so I watched him play 60 games or so as a 16,17 year old) I agree he's a wild card...

That's terrible news. I guess that's from the skate coming down on top of his foot. The only good news is the article says he could possibly be back for the conference finals. I still think they have enough to get through the East without him; although it may take an extra game or two. But I just don't know if they'll be able to win it all without him. I'd like to think that if there's at least a chance for him being back for the conference finals, he'd be ready to go for the finals.

Boston is dominating early. I figured the Flyers could come out a little flat after an 8 day layoff. Boston is playing well and getting a lot of good looks. The Flyers have to keep it close during this initial surge. Although I picked the Flyers, I'm certainly not pulling for them. They did their job by getting the higher seed out of the way as did Boston. Not that I'd necessarily mind seeing the Pens knock them out yet again.

I think the match-up with Vancity or Chicago would be made more difficult without your best peno killing forward....

That Sturm injury figures to be pretty serious for Boston. There wasn't much contact and he couldn't get up afterwards. I was going to say that Boston had a nice edge as far as health (given Gagne and Carter being out), but that one is going to hurt.

Needless to say, if the next goal doesn't come from the Flyers, I think this one is over. Boston isn't the kind of team that's going to blow a 3 goal lead.

Injuries are always going to play a part in the outcomes of these games it's depth as I mentioned earlier today....2nd 3rd line scoring etc...but Boston isnt this good in my opinion Philly came out flat...
