Then they need to be told to GTFO if they don't want to commit. I am sure there are plenty of folks who would be happy to make it a full time job for the price they are getting paid so we don't have to watch this terrible officiating every weekend.

that's what I'm saying. You'd be eliminating a very large number of your officials. It would take years of training new officials for them to be prepared to implement such a system. And you can't just get guys from college because they're much the same, part time employees with other careers. All I'm saying is it's just not as simple as one would think.

And IMO, the problems with officials have more to do with what they're taught more so than them not being adequately prepared. The league decides to emphasize different things every year, changes rules, etc, which produces a lack of cohesion for everyone.

Here's the problem: There were millions of eyeballs watching this game, and dvery single one of them could see there should have been a 15 yard penalty for roughing / unnecessary roughness.

There needs to be MULTIPLE officials in the booth that have the authority to stop the game and force the on field refs to review almost any play. The same goes with the delay of game penalty where the refs improperly stayed over the ball.

At the very least, this botched sequence cost buffalo a ahot at overtime, as they were well within FG range at the end of the game if the SEA lead was only 3 points.
