The ST coach needs to go as well. Put his salary towards a real OC/QB coach. Chryst can't do it all and frankly has gotten more conservative each year.
eta-Chryst says to the media he was not looking to make a change, but plenty of smoke that Rudolph was in fact told he should look for another job. He put his hat in the ring for the ND OL opening. He doesn't do that unless told he should look.
Chryst doesn't want to have to fire him.

He has the arm. I don't know if he has the head. He hangs on to the ball too long a lot and doesn't trust his eyes. Processes too slow.
He isn't lazy and the coaches have to kick him out of the film room reportedly. It just hasn't come together.
He does have 2 more years to figure it out. Some guys do. Some don't. If he does the offense will suddenly be dangerous. Right now all teams have to do is stack the box with little to worry about defending the pass.

Hope he can put it together but I think his early success against Illinois might have hampered his growth.
