A team up by three can intentionally foul to limit the other team an opportunity to only score two points.

What’s funny is that coaches used to not do this and people always bitched because it was the smartest strategy to win a game and they wouldn’t do it

It may sound extreme, but the only way to try and stop the NBA from manipulating and rigging games is to eliminate free throws all together.
Rewarding teams with free points from rigged officiating is completely out of control in this league. Probably 10% of points scored in all NBA games are complete and utter bullshite points handed to teams.
