See the first page for discussion about what happened with the 2 car stuff. I thought they changed the cars to prevent line racing and big ones for safety reasons, but then they started 2 by 2 and Nascar tried to go back to pack racing. Steel made the point on page 1 that the changes were to prevent bump drafting, not pack racing.

Pack racing
OUT:
JR
Harvick
Logano
Truex
Kenseth
????

Rule changes to the car designs has brought the pack racing back.

Not like it was Jr's fault. Ambrose spun out Logano to wreck them all. It's just pack racing.

like i said in my earlier post they try to pair race but due to front air intake restrictions, the cars overheat quicker and they have to break up.

Yet another wreck when a car hits the left rear bumper of another...

There will be 4 or 5 big ones next weekend. They might be lucky to finish with 25 cars on the track.

Sunday is going to be a crapshoot as always. Last man standing will win. I prefer the pack racing over the 2 x 2, But the new "shark fins" on the back is what I think is causing the wrecks. Any action on the back end of these cars and they go spinning.

Saw on SPEED that the new fins are supposed to keep the cars from getting airborne, But it looks like it makes them lose it easier if bumped. Related, JR looked like his car was close to taking off on that last wreck.

Yep. the designs are suppose to keep them from flipping, but it looks like it is easier to spin them. Makes sense with that big long fin running down the left side.

It's not the shark fin. They had those last year. It's the shorter rear spoiler. They don't have as much downforce, so any push to get them lose is gonna make them spin out.

At times looks like they fins could cause them to flip if the car gets turn right at the right speed.. It may help keep them down if turn the other way thought Nascar needs to look into lowering that thing i think..

Remembering back on the cars that have flipped, it looks like most of the time if they're going full speed down the straightaways and turn right, they flip more often. I remember back before the tandem crap if they got turned right, it seemed like cars were flipping almost immediately on the backstretch at Talledega.

The longer rear bumper seems to be part of the problem with them spinning when getting hit in teh left rear.

M Waltrip said earlier that when a car got close to him that his car would get loose.

Nascar added length to the rear bumper and slightly changed the angle to help prevent the two car break away at the plate races.

Shrub is an a-hole but he just had the biff push him to the lead. After almost losing it earlier.
