I still believe NASCAR’s decline started the day Earnhardt died.

That's the easy marker, but they had already set course by then.

Big TV deal is a more accurate mile marker of when things changed for the worse: older drivers getting pushed out. More win now or else. Changing the car, becoming OCD about anything deamed as unsafe, and finally...ignoring the original fan base has caused them to be more of a curiosity then a true passion for motor sports fans now.

Hell, they ran a race at Indy a few years back stopping every 10 laps cause the tires were falling apart, and STILL kept Goodyear! Dollar dollar bills yall.

NASCAR peaked at Daytona when Reagan went there.

NASCAR is now woke, boring, and unwatchable.

The Bubba Wallace shite confirms it.

Everyone is finally realizing how boring/stupid NASCAR has become and is switching to the far superior Motorsport alternative- Formula 1

Tv contracts that had them on 5-6 different networks throughout the season. It used to be easy to find the race to watch it. Now it’s like an Easter egg hunt. And that was5 years ago when I used to watch it.

Jimmie Johnson is the poster boy for the downfall of Nascar. Completely corporate, controlled, boring personality.

That's only part of it, but drivers like him, and castrating drivers like Harvick, was part of the image makeover that took the personalities out of it.

The Jimmie Johnson years changed my view on the sport. I was a die hard fan and would watch every Sunday, but sorry watching a guy win 10 races a year and 5 straight championships was boring. Not to mention he was a boring guy. Jimmie is a good guy, but not a personality nascar fans want or like. The COT was a terrible decision for the sport. Jimmie and the 48 team were really the only team that consistently figured those cars out.

Also, they need to get away from some tracks. We need more short track racing where tempers are going to flare. Super speedway tracks are so boring to watch. One driver dominates the whole race.
