What do J. Willingham, J. Kubel & C. Granderson have in common? Each has hit more HRs at home (17) than the Giants' total (16) at AT&T. Sad.

Yeah...that ball park will never be called a hitter's park. Dense marine layer keeps a ton of balls in the park. Have you ever seen HR stats day games vs. night games at ATT? :imlazy:

If Cubs fail to move Dempster, Garza, Soriano, LaHair is this trading deadline a big fail for them?
Not being biased, but I don't think it's a fail at all if none of them get moved...even though I think we'll see some more deals from the Cubs today.
Keep in mind, when trading players to contenders right now, all you will receive is prospects. Garza especially, can possibly be moved in the winter and we can receive MLB ready players in exchange for him.
Moving Soriano will cost the Cubs millions, whether it's now, this winter, or next season. And he's really not blocking anyone in the minors.
Dempster, if we can't get the equivalent of a compensatory 1st rd player..then it's really no point to move him.
I can't help but think of the package the Cubs would have got for Dempster if the new rules regarding compensatory picks for traded players wasn't changed.

Not sure about that one Deano. Tough stat to find. I'll do some digging when I have some time. Meanwhile, there are fewer HRs hit at AT&T than any other ballpark. Shocking, I know.

This is my favorite day of the year, so much activity.

@jaysonst: Victorino deal almost certainly ends any possibility of #Phillies trading Pence before this winter. Short on OFs now!

okay frick who can the Giants get to close out ballgames? our bullpen is hot garbage. Casilla has blown 6 of his last 10 save opps.

Can't disagree with them. They will have to grit it out. I think Ogando could be as good as anyone they would pick up.

Rangers better make a move if they want to try and win a World Series with this core group. Time is ticking away.

Who would they get? Who would you suggest? Johnson has blown and has injury worries. Beckett blows. I'm not sure about Dempster or Garza. Garza may work, but he's injured.
There's really not big time guy out there.

All of this is posturing.

Agreed, Rangers need something the bat are struggling and the pitching could use a boost. Rangers better hope Hamilton can get on anothe hot streak. I think Angels will catch them before end of year
