This could get very ugly. Not good for the game.
Shrouded in constant, 'is he, isn't he juicing' with most thinking that MLB is soft on it already. I simply disagree. You might be right and it will be bad, but for every fan on here who says 'ah frick it let em juice and see who can hit it the furthest' you have one fan saying he stopped watching because of steroids. So I really don't know, but i don't think it will be bad for the game.

I think just about every reasonable baseball fan wants a clean game. But there's quite a few problems suspending this many guys without a positive test.
Casual fans will still think juicing is prevalent
Suspending people without a positive test makes baseball look bad, especially if it doesn't hold up in an appeal
This makes them look even more bitter about Ryan Braun getting off. Baseball should be happy when they aren't suspending players. This makes it look like they're trying to suspend people.
Etc

I agree here.
But i think it's time for the gauntlet to be thrown down. But i see your point.

Having actual proof that they bought is enough in lieu of a positive IMO. Unless they want to say they bought it for wife or lover. Although how can they even hint at 100 game suspension when Melky got 50 for his phony Internet we page he created?

Good point. It's making them look desperate and bitter.
And I think proof they bought it is enough evidence according to the CBA. But all the circumstances around the evidence--paying off the guy, leaking names, etc.--cheapen it

The whole paying off a couple of shady guys does look bad and CBA could probably argue documents were doctored based on how these two needed to be paid to cooperate.

Baseball was just about passed all of this crap too.
There are so many great stories that will be just shoved to the backburner

Way to copy Brandon McCarthy's tweet
